Job Title: Public  Health  Specialist
The  Ministry  of Water and  Environment  seeks to  recruit  Professionals in  the  Technical  Support Units  to  provide  professional technical  support  to Distritcs Local  Governments to  reinforce its  role in monitoring  and implementation of its mandate with  Local Governments.
Duties
•    Support  the establishment  of the District  and  Sanitation  Coordination Committees  and ensure  that  sanitation  and hygiene  education is regular  agenda  item for the  committee  discussion .
•    Support  the district  LGs  in the  preparation of monthly  , quarterly and  annual the  district LGs  in the  standard  reporting  formats  availed to  districts .
•    Carry-out  any  other  work that  will  be assigned     by the  client  or  his  representative  through  the  team leader  of the  Unit.


Qualifications
•    An  Honors  Degree /Post  graduate  qualification  in  Public  Health /Environmental Health /Management  , Environmental Health Education, and  Community  Health .
•    Post  graduate  training  in particulary  approaches  shall be an added  advantage .
•    Experience  in the  implementation  of activities  in the  Local Government  Sector is  essential

•    Work with   LGs  to define  capacity  gaps , capacity indicators  and draw  plans and  strategies  capacity  building  and  support LG  capacity building  plans .
•    Introduce  and  promote  appropriate technologies , address  technology  issues related  to the  processes  of planning , costing , implementing ,  maintaining  , monitoring  and evaluation.
Qualifications
•    An Honors  degree  in Civil  Engineering  /Water/Mechanical  Engineering  or  hydrogeology from  a recognized  University .
•    A post graduate  diploma in Water  resources management  or  water  supply shall be  an added advantage .
•    A minimum of  six  years  professional experience , three  of which should be  in the  Water  and sanitation  sector.
•    Experience in the  implementation  of activities  in the  Local  ; Government  Sector  is essential .

Duties
•    Ensures  timely  servicing  of  equipment .
