Grants Coordinator Job- Child Fund Uganda

Job Title: Grants Coordinator


Key responsibilities
• Keep track of upcoming proposals, research potentials sources of funding
• Review and highlight guidelines on upcoming grants and disseminate this information
•Spearhead capacity building of staff in resource acquisition
•Initiate, nurture and develop cordial relationships and networks with all stakeholders Represent ChildFund on grant management issues
* Coordinate the development, review and timely submission of reports ensuring accurate and donor compliance
• Manage grant start up and closure processes
• Support grant monitoring and evaluation and organize grant review meetings Lead in understanding and sharing of donor policies, regulations and procedures ChildFund Uganda is working in the 2 districts to develop the capacities of local community based organizations to be able to mobilize resources and implement programs that improve the well being of deprived, excluded and vulnerable children.

Qualifications and Experience
*A Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Development Studies, Humanities or closely related
* A Post-graduate qualification in project management is essential
* Master's degree is desirable ' Basic training in financial management
* A minimum of five (5) years hands-on experience in program management in general and at least 3years with a specific focus on grants management in an International NGO
* Proven experience sourcing/developing winning proposals and managing grants from major donors - USAID, Ell, DF1D, USAID, SIDA Ireland Aid and/or others in Uganda '
*Extensive computer proficiency is a must

Required Knowledge, Skills and Attributes
* Highly developed analytical and communication skills
* High level team skills Excellent analytical and report writing skills
Prior knowledge of relevant donor regulations and reporting requirements Ability and willingness to mentor other staff in grants management Ability to juggle competing priorities and meet demanding deadlines Ability to assimilate and process information on a wide range of issues Ability to manage multi-sectoral interventions efficiently Ability to coordinate with various stakeholders including program staff, partners, communities and government officials Strong networking, advocacy, negotiation and lobbying skills

Reports to power systems sales manager, responsible for the management of the documentation for the department and the storage of the products. He/she will work very closely with logistics, finance and sales engineers.

Main Functions
• Write and submit reports on time

The Stores Assistant reports directly to the Stores Management Officer.
Location of office: Entebbe
Purpose of the job: To ensure that the trading stock of NMS is well kept and availed in line with the Stores Procedures Manual.

Key Accountabilities/Key Result Areas:
1) Receive NMS trading stocks and third party consignments in with the Stores Procedures Manual.
2) Coordinate the packing of orders as per working instructions in order to meet delivery schedule
3) Maintain up to-date records of stock at the locations supervised according to the Stores Procedures Manual.
4) Maintain secure, safe and hygienic storage conditions the Stores Operations Manual.
5) Ensure optimal utilization of storage space through the physical movement, consolidation and rotation of stocks at the Locations physically as appropriate and in line with the Stores Operations Manual and working instructions.
6) Carry out the physical checking of picked goods before handing them over for dispatch.
7) Produce periodic reports in line with the Stores Operations Manual
8) Supervise allocated subordinate staff in accordance with the Human Resource Manual.

Qualifications and experience:
• Minimum qualification of an honour's degree.
• Good knowledge of spread sheets, databases and word processing software
• 2 years relevant working experience in a pharmaceutical warehouse.
• Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision

Job Title: Project Coordinator
The Project Coordinator reports to the Head of Stores and Operations.
Location of office: Entebbe

Purpose of the job: The project Coordinator oversees all aspects of the Centers for Disease Control Laboratory Supplies project on behalf of the project Director using planning, monitoring and controlling processes.

Key accountabilities/key result areas:
1) Draw up project budgets and operational plans based on project goals and available funding as approved by CDC and Management.
2) Define and determine specific roles and responsibilities of project members in NMS /CDC project especially the key deliverables required of each department in NMS; JMS from time to time.
3)Provide hands on day today project management to ensure that the project goals and objectives are achieved within the project timeframe and guidelines established.
4) develop and execute monitoring and Evaluation (M and E) plans.
5) Track and report or project progress to ensure that project deliverables stay on time and budget.
6) Draw up required quarterly and annual progress reports and updates on project activities and deliverables as required by CDC and NMS in liaison with the Project Director and project members.
7) Liaise with Finance and Procurement departments to produce Financial Status reports.
8) Perform any other duties assigned by the project Director,

Person specifications:
• Relevant Medical Degree (Medicine, Pharmacy, Biomedical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or Public health).
• A Post graduate diploma in project management.
• 3 years experience on the management team of a similar USG funded project.
• Proficiency in spreadsheets, databases and word processing software.
