Program Manager Vacancy at Housing Microfinance

Position: Housing Microfinance Program Manager- Retail Lending
The successful candidate will assume overall responsibility for the implementation of the Housing: Micro-finance Program Retail Lending activities. This includes the delivery of housing micro-loan products; and housing related support services in HFHU's areas of operation. The overall program objectives are to; enable low income families to incrementally improve; their housing and build new housing. This includes both administrative and fiscal management.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Coach, mentor and train staff of the HMF program to enable them assume their institutional roles in implementing housing microfinance retail [ending operations.
• Engage in marketing and sales activities to promote Housing microfinance among the target groups.
• Manage the retail lending portfolio to maximize total return in a manner consistent with HFH : goals and objectives.
• Implement housing microfinance best practices and methodologies
• Make recommendations to reach targets and goals white minimizing risk by identifying credit profile criteria and the most appropriate methodologies that apply to the targeted groups.
• Financial control: participate in the budgeting process, approve and review retail housing microfinance program expenditures, etc.
• Provide overall reporting for the Retail lending activities
• Representation: Represent Habitat for Humanity Uganda to micro finance associations and networks, coordinate and facilitate at both regional and local workshops.

Minimum Qualifications:
• An honors degree in Business Administration,
Economics, Microfinance, Rural Economy, Commerce or Agric. Economics
• Professional training in relevant areas of Microfinance
• Experience of 8 years in Microfinance or credit delivery
• Knowledge of: quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques; principles of supervision,training and performance evaluation; current trends in public finance mechanism for affordable housing; current trends in the fields of housing, real estate and redevelopment.

• Strong business management and negotiation skills
• Excellent report writing skills and computer literacy
• Excellent organizational planning and analytical skills
• Strong willingness to work in the field
• High level of commitment to community work with minimum supervision
• Fluency in English and Ugandan languages
• Conversant with the regulatory framework for the Microfinance industry in Uganda.
