Position: ORPHANS AND VUNERABLE CHILDREN (OVC) OFFICER-
Duty station: Arua, Soroti
Reports to: Care and Treatment Specialist

Purpose of the job: Monitor the implementation of OVC activities by District Community Officers and sub granted CSOs in accordance with agreed pro¬gramme performance measures

Key Result Areas:
1. Review impiementers activity plans and reports and check for consistency and accuracy in accordance with the programme requirements
2. Develop plans and budgets for OVC activities with CSOs for a given time frame in line Baylor's planning and financial guidelines
3. Work collaborative with Grants Officers to identify eligible CSOs
4. Build the capacity of CSOs through training about OVC and maintain their participation in project development activities in line with Baylor Uganda set standards
5. Carry out monitoring and evaluation exercises of planned activities with the M and E team for OVCs in accordance with the program evaluation guidelines
6. Maintain communicate channels and liaise with District Officers and sub-granted CSOs on funding issues, budgets, program implementation, project progress in accordance with established guidelines
7. Advocate for the rights of orphans and vulnerable children to enable them attain equal opportunities in life with established set standards
8. Prepare reports about OVC activities and submit them to the Project coor¬dinator for review in accordance with established reporting guidelines

Qualifications and personal specifications
The successful applicant must have;
1. A Bachelor's degree in Adult and Community, or Social Work and Social Administration or Community psychology or Development studies or Social Sciences.
2. The required experience is a minimum of two years experience in a Clinical setting including medical social work, community development, working with OVCs and participatory training methodology.
3. He or she should have good interpersonal, communication (both oral and written), and problem solving skills.
4. He or she must be team oriented, stress tolerant with high integrity.
5. He /she should be between 24- 40 years of age.
