VETERINARY MEDICINE

1.     Wildlife and Animal Resource Management

(a) Post:    Teaching Assistant                   (1)

Qualification:   (i) Minimum of an Upper Second Class Bachelors Degree in:
                               Veterinary Medicine or Animal Production, Technology and Management or  
                              Wildlife Health and Management or Agriculture with Animal Production
                               option.                              

  
Duties:    Teaching, supervision of Undergraduate students and research projects.

2.    Department of Veterinary Public Health & Preventive Medicine.

 (a) Post:            Teaching Assistant            (2)

Qualification:   (i) Minimum of  Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine or Upper second
                               Bachelor of Animal Production Technology and management with at least a B+Grade in
                              any of the following; Veterinary Epidemiology,  Public Health,
                              Dairy Technology or Animal Product , Quality Assurance and Biostatistics.

  Duties:    To assist in teaching, supervision of Undergraduate students and research projects.

3.    Department of Veterinary Anatomy

(a ) Post:               Teaching Assistant            (3)

Qualification:   (i) Bachelors Degree in Veterinary Medicine OR Biomedical Laboratory
                                Technology.

  Duties:         To assist in the teaching, supervision of Undergraduate students. Supervise student
                      research activities.

(b ) Post:               Teaching Assistant            (2)

Qualification:   (i) Bachelors Degree in Veterinary Medicine OR Biomedical Laboratory
                                Technology.

  Duties:         To assist in the teaching, supervision of Undergraduate students. Supervise student
                      research activities.


4.    Department of Veterinary Surgery and Reproduction.

a)   Post:    Assistant Lecturer                (2)

Qualification:   (i)  Bachelors Degree in Veterinary Medicine.
                          (ii)  A Master of Science Degree with specialization in Reproductive Physiology
                                 and Diseases  OR Genetics or any other field relevant to Animal
                                 Reproduction.

 Duties:             Teaching, supervision of Undergraduate students. Supervision of
                          Students’ research activities & school practice.

b)    Post:        Teaching Assistant     (4)

Qualifications:        Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (Three),
                Bachelor of Biomedical Laboratory Technology (One) OR their
                Equivalent.

Duties:        Teaching, supervision of Undergraduate students and research projects.



5.    Department of Veterinary Parasitology & Microbiology

a)    Post:            Assistant Lecturer    (1)

Qualifications:    (i) Master of Science with specialization in any of the following disciplines: - Microbiology & Molecular Biology.
  
                                          (ii) Minimum Upper second Bachelors in Veterinary Medicine.
  
Duties:    Delivery of Lectures & conducting practicals & tutorials to undergraduate BVM, BLT, BAP, WHM students.
    Preparation of practical manuals for the undergraduate classes.
    Attendance/Membership to various sub-committees as need arises.
    Supervision of undergraduate students’ project research.
    Assisting in practical sessions for Master of Science Classes..

6.    Department of Physiological Sciences

a)    Post:            Teaching Assistants        (2)

Qualifications:    A Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine OR Biomedical Laboratory Technology OR Animal Production Technology and Management OR Agriculture (Animal Science Option).

Duties:    Delivery of lectures and conducting practicals to undergraduates.
                Preparation of practical manuals for the undergraduates
                Supervision of undergraduate students’ project research
                Assisting in practical sessions for Master of Science Classes
Attendance.

1. Minimum qualifications for each post category.

Post: Professor

Qualifications: (i) A PhD or Master’s degree in Clinical Sciences.

(ii) Evidence of Pedagogical skills.

(iii)Twenty one (21) recognized Publications in the area of specialization

and at least five (5) Publications within the last three years at the time of

application.

(b) Post: Associate Professor

Qualifications: (i) A PhD or Master’s degree in Clinical Sciences

(ii) Evidence of Pedagogical skills.

(iii) Eleven (11) recognized Publications in the area of specialization.

and at least five (4) Publications within the last three years at the time of

application.

(c) Post: Senior Lecturer

Qualification: (i) A PhD or Masters’ degree in Clinical Sciences.

(ii) Evidence of Pedagogical skills.

(iii) Eight (8) recognized Publications in the area of specialization.

and at least five (3) Publications within the last three years at the time of

application.

(d) Post: Lecturer

Qualifications: (i) A PhD or Masters’ degree in Clinical Sciences.

(e) Post: Assistant Lecturer

Qualification: (i) At Least Second Class Upper Division Bachelor’s Degree

(ii) A Masters Degree.

(f) Post: Teaching Assistant

Qualification: (i) At least Second Class Upper Division Bachelor’s Degree
