Job Title: Vector control specialist/entomologist

Chemonics seeks a vector control specialist/entomologist for the anticipated $60-million, USAID-funded Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) project in Uganda, under the U.S. Presidential Malaria Initiative. The project will provide technical and logistical assistance to the Ministry of Health (MOH) and National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) to implement indoor residual spraying for malaria prevention. The full-time position is based in Gulu. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. Responsibilities include:

* Provide technical guidance for all vector control project activities
* Liaise with government counterparts
* Implement a system that provides vector monitoring to assess field effectiveness of the project

Qualifications:


* Advanced degree in medical entomology required
* Minimum five years of field experience in vector control of malaria and other vector-borne diseases, including IRS and entomological surveillance for mosquito-borne disease vectors
* Strong knowledge of environmental and public health principles and practices, particularly in insecticidal vector control programs
* Proven ability to initiate, develop, and implement vector control policies, procedures, programs, and conservation practices for the promotion of environmentally sound vector control programs
* Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
* Proficiency in written and spoken English
