Agricultural Advisory Service Provider Jobs in Uganda

Job Title:  Agricultural Advisory Service Provider.

Terms of Employment:  2 years contract, renewable on good performance.

Duties and responsibilities:

-         To disseminate and develop farmers skills on improved practices and management of improved technologies.

-         To advise and provide information, knowledge and skills to farmers on improved methods of farming and agricultural practices.

-         To advise and provide information to farmers on the mobilization of resources, including access to credit.

-         To advise and provide information to farmers on marketing and trading activities, input supply, storage and production processing.

-         Arrange and perform adaptive research and advisory development and support services in response to the demand of the farmers.

Qualifications and Competences:

-         Minimum qualification, Diploma in Agriculture (Crop Agronomy/ Animal Husbandry (livestock), Fisheries Management (Fisheries) or other relevant fields from a recognized institution.

-         Ability to communicate in the local language is an added advantage.

Work experience:

-         Computer literacy in standard computer packages (word processing and spread sheet) will be added advantage.

-         At least 2 years experience in Rural Development or related field and working with farmers.
