Job Title: Communications Specialist

Management Sciences for Health (MSH) is an international non-profit, public health organisation with headquarters in USA, whose purpose is to strengthen health programs worldwide. MSH Uganda is currently running a number of USAID and other donor funded projects, both in Kampala and other parts of the country including STRIDES for Family Health.

STRIDES for Family Health strengthens the capacity of the health system in fifteen (15) selected districts in Uganda to make them fully functional and able to deliver quality, integrated reproductive health/family planning (RH/FP) and child survival (CS) services to the people in need of these services.

MSH now invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following positions in the STRIDES for Family Health Project:

Job Title: Communications Specialist
The Communications Specialist is responsible for development, yearly update, and full implementation of the project’s communications plan. S/he is also in charge of the development and dissemination of project literature, including drafting regular and ad hoc reporting to USAID and other stakeholders. S/he is responsible for capturing, packaging, synthesizing and sharing project successes through methods such as success stories disseminated through USAID, the MSH web site and the MSH eNewsletter, conference presentations, case studies, and posts on the MSH blog, Global Health Impact. The Communications Specialist shall provide ongoing capacity-building support for project staff on communications and knowledge exchange tools, templates, resources and approaches.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. University degree in Journalism, Communications or equivalent relevant experience 2) Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation will be an added advantage 3) Three years practical experience preferred
4)Experience in working with a busy international organization preferred 5) Excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to interact professionally with clients and stakeholders 6) Excellent communications skills
