Post: CHIEF ACCOUNTANT

The Chief Accountant is part of the management team and the person holding it will be responsible for: maintaining the company accounts in good order; directing the accounts team; ensuring that debts are collected within the agreed credit period; maintaining strict cost controls; assisting management to ensure that profit margins are maintained; preparing monthly management accounts and reports; preparing the annual budget and other strategic financial documents; supervising Capital's financial interest in its subsidiaries; administration of Capital Radio; supervising purchases; supervision of staff leave, certain appraisals, and other personnel issues; and any other assignments instructed by the General Manager to whom the Chief Accountant reports.

Qualifications and Experience:
A Honours Degree in Commerce or Accounting from a reputable university plus a professional Accountant qualification (CPA, ACCA, ACA etc) with at least 5 years of working experience in a commercially oriented environment at a senior level.
The right candidate must be computer literate and conversant with major accounting packages.
S/he should be a team player with good communication skills.
