Role Planning and budgeting for health services delivery in the Health centre/ HSD

POST: SENIOR MEDICAL OFFICER
SALARY: UGANDA GOVERNMENT U3
AGE: 28 (TWENTY EIGHT) YEARS AND ABOVE

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORKING EXPERIENCE:
• Must have MBChB or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institution.
• Must be registered and licensed with the Medical and Dental Practitioners Council.
• Post graduate qualification in management is an added advantage
• At least 3 years working experience in clinical practice in Government or from a reputable organization.

DUTIES:
The incumbent will be responsible to District Health officer for performing the following duties:
• Planning and budgeting for health services delivery in the Health centre/ HSD.
• Managing and accounting for allocated medical, fiscal and other resources.
• Diagnosing, treating and managing patients.
• Managing health information management systems.
• Coordinating the procurement of equipment, drugs and other supplies for the Health Centre. • Carrying out human resource management functions like identifying manpower needs training, leave and performance appraisal.
• Coordinating the implementation of the Uganda National Minimum Health Care Package in the HSD.
• Providing guidelines and enforcing adherence to health service delivery standards.
• Ensuring adherence to Professional and Service Codes of Conduct and Ethics.
• Providing technical guidance and supervision to Health Centers.
• Overseeing the operationalisation of the Occupation Health and Safety Policy and Guidelines in the Health centre/ HSD.
• Ensuring regular maintenance and functioning of the HC equipment
• Preparing and submitting reports.
• Coordinating the provision of Continuous Professional Development

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the following vacant posts in the District Local Governments of Sembabule, Kiruhura, Isingiro, Mbarara, Ibanda, Hoima, Nakasongola, Bugiri and Namutumba as per the summary of vacancies indicated below:
