KEY JOBFUNCTIONS:
• Formulate and update the internal audit Manual and present it to Management for consideration and to the Board for approval in line with the National Audit Act and International Financial standards.
• Review the reliability and integrity of financial and operating information and make appropriate recommendations in accordance with the Audit rules and guidelines.
• Develop audit plans to carry out the responsibilities of the Internal Audit Department in line with the departmental guidelines.
• Review and make appropriate recommendations on policies, plans, procedures and practices in order to minimize risks and safeguard Posta Uganda’s assets in accordance with Audit rules and guidelines.
• Appraise the economy, efficiency and effectiveness in the use of Posta Uganda’s resources through value for money audits and make appropriate recommendations.
• Prepare quarterly and annual audit reports in line with Posta Uganda’s reporting guidelines.
• Contribute to the planning and filling of staffing needs in the provision of Internal Audit services in Posta Uganda.
• Establish and recommend performance standards and evaluate staff in the provision of internal audit services in Posta in accordance with the HR guidelines
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
• Honors degree in Accounting
• A professional qualification in Accounting. Possession of a relevant Masters Degree will be an added advantage
• At least five (5) years of progressive and professional auditing experience, of which at least three (3) years should have been as a head of the Audit function.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment within the general policy guidelines and also interpret new business environment issues.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff.
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Computer literacy in MS Office
