PRINCIPAL PETROLEUM OFFICER (STANDARDS)

SALARY : UGANDA GOVERNMENT SCALE U2
AGE : 28 YEARS AND ABOVE
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORKING EXPERIENCE:
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering or Industrial Chemistry plus at least a Postgraduate Diploma in any of the above fields from a recognized University /Institution.
Applicants should have a minimum of Six (6) years of working experience, three (3) of which should have been served as a Senior Petroleum/Energy Officer in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization.
Applicants should have previous experience in petroleum installations, design and construction, operation and management, and computer literacy in reporting and design packages will be an added advantage.
He/she should possess the following competencies; team work skills, analytical skills, good communication skills, records and information management skills, Information communication technology, planning, organizing and coordinating and ethics and integrity.
DUTIES:
The incumbent will be responsible to the Assistant Commissioner/Petroleum Standards in performing the following duties:
• Participate in the process of preparation and update of standards of petroleum products, equipment and facilities.
• Prepare and implement programs to ensure compliance with petroleum standards.
• Develop operating codes of practice throughout the petroleum supply chain operations.
• Follow-up with enforcement section prosecutions on petroleum standards offences.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual work plans for the Section.
• Prepare quarterly and annual performance reports for petroleum standards in the country.
• Serve as the Inspector in ensuring compliance with petroleum standards.
• Participate in the preparation of budget estimates for the Division.
• Provide leadership to the team in Standards Section.
• Any other duties assigned from time to time.
