JOB PURPOSE: Oversee the design and implementation of Invisible Children's s4s program activities alongside the Education Director and other key ICU personnel towards the attainment of desired program goals and overall ICU strategy using the existing policies and program guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Coordinates Invisible Children's s4s team to ensure free flow of information, activity implementation and program efficacy thorough regular staff meetings, reviews and motivation.
* Develops new approaches, ideas and proposals in line with existing needs as expressed on the ground, and forwards them to the Education Director for further discussions and agreement.
* Support in the development and review of Invisible Children Uganda's Country strategy alongside the Country program team in line with ' existing opportunities in the areas of operation as will be dictated by ICUs vision and mission.
* Monitors closely the s4s program expenditures against the available budget, including the application of adequate control procedures and methods including review of bills of quantities, drawings, bid documents, contract agreements and purchase request authorization in line with ICU guidelines.
* Carries out regular field supervision and assessment of all project sites where project funds, materials, and equipment are being utilized, and checks on progress and quality of work done as well as taking necessary actions.
* Builds effective communication networks and relationship with partner schools as well as partnering relationships between the various stakeholder groups/organizations within the area of ICU operation.
* Work with the Education Director and M and E officer towards the integration of M and E best practices into the s4s program using the existing tools.
* Establishes appropriate procedures for internal monitoring, smooth implementation, and reporting of project activities including to ensure replication of best practices and lessons learned in accordance with the program guidelines.
* In consultation with Human Resources Department and the t he Education Director supports the recruitment of s4s departmental staff using established ICU recruitment guidelines and Uganda Labour Laws.
* Ensures annual staff appraisals are conducted, identifies staff training needs and follows up for appropriate action with the Education Director and the human Resources department recommendations for training and other capacity building measures;
* Coordinate with Finance, Logistics, Communications and other relevant offices to ensure timely delivery and reporting of program achievements as per the set timelines.
* Prepare and submit timely program reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Education: A Bachelors Degree in, Education, Social sciences, Development Studies or a related field, Post graduate qualifications will be preferred.
* Experience; 4-5 years work experience in Program Management/development work preferably with a renowned International Non-governmental Organization working in the sector of Education.
* Language: Fluency in English Language and strong writing skills.
* Other skills: Computer proficiency in Ms Office packages, strong Leadership, interpersonal and team work skills, report writing skills,
