Job Title: Enterprise Development Officer (EDO)
Reports: Value chain Manager

Key Responsibilities:
The EDO shall be responsible for all Trust's operational matters relating to agro input supply and enterprise development, inclusive but not limited to:
•Developing operational plans in accordance to goals and practices sell by the Board of Trustees
•Cooperate with other relevant stakeholders in the sector, including private sector organizations, development partners and government institutions
•Ensuring that contractual arrangement (contracting, outsourcing and partnering) meet the trust's corporate and legal requirements
•Ensuring that experts and contracted business development service providers deliver the agreed and defined outputs evaluation system
•Providing technical support to product and commodity platforms
•Supporting Value Chain commercialization through promotion productivity enhancing technologies
•Developing the distribution network of agro input dealers
•Developing business management capacity of supported agro input Dealers
• Any other duties as may be assigned to him/her


Required experience:
The EDO shall have at least 5 years working experience with proven experience of:
•Enterprise development
• Market development for business service providers
• Small holder farmer’s development
• Agro input supply chain development and management
• Good agricultural practices

Academic qualification;
The EOD shall have a degree in Agriculture. A masters Degree in Agricultural Economic, Business Administration or related fields will be an added advantage.

Required experience:

Under the direction of the Lead Engineer, technicians are responsible for installing water treatment systems in remote communities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Mobilizing and overseeing community volunteers as they prepare for the project by constructing shallow wells, digging trenches for pipes, and constructing houses for the water treatment systems
• Installing water treatment systems which include the following main components: pumps, filters, chlorinators, and solar panels
• installing storage tanks, distribution lines, and tap stands
• Training local system operators
• Project reporting, including taking photographs and recording testimonials, Water quality testing, Monitoring projects and fixing broken systems

Qualifications

Duties and responsibilities

* Prepare partnership knowledge products, including Partnership Monthly Updates and Global Partners Mapping;
* Contribute to strategic communication of the knowledge activities of the Partnership and Cooperation Unit internally and externally via newsletters, website and other channels; and
* Any other partnerships related tasks as deemed necessary.

Selection Criteria

Including desirable skills, knowledge and experience

* At least a Master’s degree in International Development, Finance, Strategy, Business Management, Economics, or related disciplines;
* Minimum seven (7) years of highly relevant professional experiences in partnerships management or resource mobilization internationally and in Africa;
* Professional ability to build partnerships related to resource mobilization and co-financing to facilitate investment in sectors such as infrastructure in Africa;
* Knowledge of operational policies, procedures and practices of major bilateral and multilateral development finance institutions and private sector financial institutions;
* Track record in negotiating partnerships arrangements of complex nature with potential partner institutions and convening high-level roundtables and workshops;
* Strong and proven ability to build and lead strategic initiatives and business development opportunities;
* Innovative ability to identify and forge creative partnerships given the dynamic nature of Bank’s operations;
* Strong and proven ability to communicate with senior management and functional teams of partner organizations;
* Excellent writing and verbal communications skills in English and/or French with a working knowledge of the other;
* Competence in the use of Bank standard software (World, Excel, PowerPoint and SAP).
