Plan International Inc. in Uganda was awarded a 5-year Cooperative Agreement under the Northern Uganda- Health Integration to Enhance Services (NU-HITES) project to continue providing technical assistance and capacity building support for Northern Uganda in Malaria, AIDS and Tuberculosis, integrate additional support in Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH), Family Planning (FP) and nutrition; while prioritizing the strengthening of district-level health facilities. Under the NU-HITES project, Plan Uganda would like to recruit competent candidates for the following positions:
Health and Nutrition Officer – NU-HITES Project (3 Positions)
Department & Location: Gulu/Lira/Kitgum Reports to: Sub-Regional Project Coordinator
Purpose:
This position reports to the Sub-Regional Project Coordinator and the successful candidate will be a member of the Sub-Region-based technical team and will specifically be responsible for coordinating planning, implementation and monitoring of integration of nutrition interventions in the mainstream health services at facility and community level in the NU-HITES project districts. It is a full-time position a five-year term, with frequent travel to districts through the Northern Region of Uganda.
Dimensions of Role:
Member of the Sub-Regional Technical Team of the NU-HITES project reporting to the Sub-Regional Project Coordinator.
Supports the Sub-regional Coordinator in designing, implementation monitoring, and evaluation of facility and community-level nutrition interventions and ensuring effective integration of nutrition interventions within the mainstream health service package to achieve project targets related to health service delivery i.e. increased availability of health services, increased accessibility to services, improved quality of services, creating enabling environments for health care delivery, and improving health-seeking behavior and practices.
Supports the Sub-regional coordinator to ensure effective delivery of the project in compliance with USAID rules and regulations, Plan policies and procedures as well as the national and other relevant international policies and guidelines.
