General Position Summary:
Operation and maintenance of LWF motor vehicles and ensuring the safety and security of authorized passengers, cargo, equipment and tools on board.

Essential Job functions:

    Maintains the assigned motor vehicle and its accessories in good working order and clean condition and makes a thorough daily check of its mechanical condition and promptly reports any fault, damage or loss;
    Checks regularly and ensures that vehicles have valid road license and motor third party insurance,
    Monitors the vehicle fuel gauge constantly, and reports any need for re-fueling in good time;
    Makes a daily record of trips in the vehicle log book, particularly departure/arrival times and mileage readings, as well as vehicle repairs/service and fuel and lubricants consumption, and reports the due service mileage in good time;
    Verifies repair/service done by a mechanic on return of vehicle from a garage;
    Ensures the safety of the vehicle while on trips;
    Assists in loading/off-loading of project materials onto/from the assigned vehicle;
    Complies strictly with the official highway code and traffic rules and regulations while driving, as well as the relevant LWF policies and procedures;
    Promptly reports to the office and/or the police all accidents and problems encountered while on duty;
    Ensures all vehicle doors and windows are securely locked after working hours, prior to handing over the keys and performs any other relevant duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Project Manager or Administrative Officer or his/her designate.

Education, Knowledge & Experience:

    O-level certificate of education or equivalent, a valid driving license for all classes and knowledge of basic motor vehicle mechanics are essential.
    A training in Customer Care.
    Certificate in defensive driving is desirable.
    At least five (5) years driving in a reputable firm, public body or NGO.
    Personal Attributes:
    High integrity, hardworking, courteous, dependable, punctual, tidy and well-groomed.
    Willing to work long hours in challenging circumstances when required.
    Knowledge of one of the local languages.

    Works with the Project Officer to initiate and coordinate the planning and implementation of the aggro-forestry project activities in liaison with other sections;
    In conjunction with the Project Officer, liaises with and works in cooperation with the relevant local authorities, local community leaders, relevant civil society and non-governmental organisations, collaborating/implementing partners, and other stakeholders where appropriate in order to achieve the aggro-forestry project objectives, and facilitate project implementation;

    Regularly visits all beneficiaries and beneficiary sites where agro-forestry project activities are undertaken, checks on progress and offers technical support as directed by the Project Officer in line with the project objectives;
    Promotes the active participation of local community leadership structures, beneficiaries and intermediaries in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of agro-forestry project activities as required;
    Ensures sensitivity to the crosscutting issues during implementation of the agro-forestry project as stipulated in the country program’s strategic direction;
    Supervises and supports local community leadership structures at the sub-county level for the effective implementation of agro-forestry project field activities;
    Assists the Project Officer to prepare periodical work plans and progress/status reports on agro-forestry project activities and achievements in line with the requirements stipulated in the project documents;
    Performs any other official duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Project Officer, the Project Manager, or his/her designate.

    Degree or Diploma in Agriculture with at least 2 years experience Candidates;

Scope of Work: The WPE Technical Coordinator is based in Kampala and travels regularly to the Acholi and Karamoja regions to support the WPE teams at field level. S/he is responsible for delivering high quality programs through strategy development, program design, implementation and evaluation of all GBV-related activities within IRC Uganda. S/he also provides technical advisory and writing support on business development opportunities. Primary duties will include strengthening the WPE sector and providing technical oversight of WPE programming across three regions of implementation; northern Uganda, Karamoja and Kampala. This position is part of the Senior Management team of IRC Uganda.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the development of a WPE sector strategy that articulates the vision in line with the country strategy and lays out the ‘master’ program design. •Lead the design, drafting and implementation process of projects, including annual work plans, performance monitoring plans and log frames to inform ongoing implementation and new program design. •Provide ongoing technical advice, direct support and guidance to the WPE teams to effectively monitor implementation of program activities. •Ensure budget management by regularly monitoring expenditures and making adjustments as necessary.
•Identify new funding opportunities and play a leadership role in developing high quality proposals and budgets that are consistent with the overall WPE country sector strategy for submission to donors. This includes close collaboration with the other IRC sectors including Health, Children and Youth – Protection and Development, Economic Recovery and Development as well as Governance and Peace Building to innovative and effective inclusion of WPE components in the integrated programs IRC delivers. •Assist in identifying and exploring opportunities for the professional development of program staff, including capacity building training, exchanges, formal performance reviews and ongoing coaching. •Liaise with donor representatives and national authorities in Uganda to keep them abreast of the project and developments. Minimum Requirements:

1. ICT Strategic Leadership

2. ICT Management

    Maintain an aggregated view of all significant/major ICT projects’ status and schedule for implementation and support across the National Office.
    Work closely with Regional and Global ICT teams to ensure that the National Office meets the minimum Partnership standards for telecommunications, technology and applications.
    Manage the introduction, implementation and support of appropriate information and communication technology in the National Office in line with Partnership standards and policies and local legal requirements.
    Develop the capacity of the ICT team through training and coaching methodologies to ensure that there is sufficient skill sets to provide and support ICT services to the organization.
    Manage structured end-user capacity building to ensure optimal and efficient use of all the ICT systems/tools available to the organization.
    Manage relationships with role players and stakeholders in the ICT industry both internal and external to World Vision
    Represent the NO in Partnership ICT and other Forums as required by the National Director, Regional ICT Director.
    Provide regular and ad hoc management reports for performance bench-marking and decision making and technical reports for operational support.
    Identify opportunities for innovation and foster the development of creative solutions that help the organization to better fulfill its mission and vision.

3. ICT Operations

    Develop, deploy and maintain appropriate ICT Infrastructure and Connectivity solutions for both head office and field offices for secure, efficient and effective flow of information to facilitate operations and decision making. This may include but not limited to Servers, Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN) and Internet Connectivity for integrated data, voice and video applications. World Vision
    Provide, deploy and maintain Personal Productivity Tools such as desk top computers, laptops, Blackberries, Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), business mobile phones, etc and software based productivity tools such as email, Office Applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), WebEx among others.
    Develop, deploy and maintain appropriate Business Applications that support critical business processes to ensure accurate data gathering, storage, retrieval, processing and reporting to facilitate operations and decision making. This may include but not limited to acquisition and implementation of commercial business applications such as Sun Systems or custom built partnership applications such as STEP, PMIS, PCIS, etc.

    Develop, deploy and maintain appropriate security systems that ensure Network, Systems and Data Security from internal and external security threats. This includes both physical and logical security solutions such as biometric access control, network firewall systems, Active Director Security, Antivirus, Antispam, Antispyware and personal firewall solutions, etc.
    Develop, document, implement, test and review Business Continuity Plan (Disaster Recovery Plan) in alignment with the National Office Disaster Mitigation and Management Plans for ensuring high systems availability and business continuity. This includes but not limited to running an automated data backup system, off-site storage of backup data, redundant systems for mission critical applications, etc.
    Develop, deploy and maintain performance Monitoring and Reporting systems that provide management and technical reports for decision making and operational support.

4. ICT Support

    Establish appropriate operational procedures, tools and resources for effective and timely delivery of technical support to all users (at the head office and field. offices) that ensures high user productivity and guarantees customer satisfaction.
    Work with the Regional and Global ICT Teams to Leverage global ICT resources to access specialized network and/or applications support.
    Provide feedback to Regional and Global ICT teams on performance of various applications and systems for ongoing field performance improvement.


Requirement:

    Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical and Electronic Engineering or related field.
    5 years relevant working experience of which at least 2 have been in the -capacity of managing an ICT/MIS department in a busy environment.
    Qualified as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MSCE) or CCNA.
    Working knowledge of Lotus Notes Administration and Internet systems.
    ITIL Certification will be an added advantage
    Good oral and written communication skills.
    Ability to relate technical issues to the business/ministry goals and effectively communicate technical issues to a non technical audience
    Good people management skills and experience.

Our client is a leading independent owner and operator of wireless and broadcast communication sites that is seeking to recruit result driven and motivated individuals for the Vacancy above;

Reports To: Quality Control Manager

Summary:The Field Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of telecommunication site construction and telecommunication site, tower, foundation, energy, etc. modifications in the field including reporting, multi-tasking, and problem solving for all technical work established by the company. Ensuring all on site activities are compliant with the best practices in H&S and quality.

Duties and Responsibilities:

    Developing and updating working knowledge of contractual agreements that pertain to the project
    Review detailed construction drawings
    Pre-planning and project coordination with contractors and subcontractors & customers contractors and suppliers
    Supervision and monitoring of designated/assigned in-field construction with focus on H&S and quality
    Overseeing, guiding and reporting construction milestones up and to Management
    Escalating issues to management promptly
    Monitoring and controlling construction timelines
    Managing field technical reporting and daily photo logs.  Forwarding such information to management
    Ensuring compliance with company safety and regulatory requirements for all company personnel and 3rd party vendors/suppliers
    Reporting any and all accidents to personnel and/or property immediately to management
    Ensuring sites are ready for programmed customer installation activities
    Make suggestions to improve product / structure, where applicable

Functional Knowledge

    Understanding of detailed construction drawings
    Solid knowledge of civil engineering, especially in concrete and foundations, energy and steel/metallic structures
    Solid knowledge of official and regulated civil construction codes
    Demonstrated expertise in managing wireless telecommunication site construction through prior experience in network deployment and/or large scale construction projects
    Ability to read, understand and manage according to project construction drawings
    Detailed knowledge Health & safety legislation & company policies

Skills:

    Very good organizational skills
    Very good written and verbal communication skills
    Detail oriented
    Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
    Ability to lead, motivate, and manage for results
    IT & MS Office skills

Qualifications:

    University or Technical Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and/or Construction Management
    2 or more years of experience in wireless telecommunication site development
    Additional technical training or coursework provided through prior company or institution that could apply to civil engineering and/or construction and construction management
    Fluency in English both written and spoken
    Legal and Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record
    Self-motivated
    Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
