 Checking and correcting selected editorial copy, headlines and captions for facts, accuracy, taste, house-style, language use, clarity, details and objectivity
 Editing copy to appropriate length, clarity and style without distorting facts or dispensing with salient points
 Selecting and editing pictures and writing/re-writing appropriate captions to enhance their quality
 Ensuring that Online content is written and presented in a format that meets web usability standards (i.e. usage of keywords, meta tags, alt tags for images, etc)
 Removing unnecessary details from copy and ensure that the stories are free of libel
 Ensuring timely publication and sign-off of online editions
 Developing and strengthening Monitor site as a medium of breaking news
 Updating stories regularly

Qualifications

The ideal candidates should have;

Academics – Basic University degree from a recognized University
A degree in Arts with a bias in Literature is of an added advantage.


Experience
2 to 3 years relevant work experience in the Media Industry.

Skills
Good subbing skills and an eye for detail are a requirement.
