Job Title: Airworthiness Inspector-(Airframes and Powerplant)

AGE: Between 30-45 years

Reports to : Principal Airworthiness Inspector

Purpose
Team participation within the section, ensuring that directorate and Departmental operational safety standards are maintained, and where possible, improved.

Principal Accountabilities
Participate in the survey of aircraft for renewal of certificates of Airworthiness.
Participate in the development and review of related airworthiness technical guidance material
Participate in the development and maintenance of records of related airworthiness directives
participate in the development of examination packs for pilots (TTRs), flight engineers and maintenance engineers (Air frames and powerplant)
Participate in the renewal and variation certification processes for continuing certificate holder organisations.
Periodic review of safety oversight on the airworthiness status of aircraft.

Education
AB. Sc. graduate or equivalent in mechanical, Electrical, or Aeronautical Engineering or related discipline.

Experience
The job holder will have at least 5 years working experience in the aviation industry, progressing to the attainment of certifying staff status. In addition, the job holder will have well developed interpersonal skills.

Knowledge and skills
ICAO, IATA and national regulatory requirements in airworthiness and procedures.

Role
Assist the functioning of the procurement and disposal Unit (PDU) of the commission and carry out general duties related to supporting the procurement processes, administration and records at the PDU.

Key Result areas
Obtain and summarize information from user departments for incorporation to the UCC procurement and Disposal Plan and participate in all activities involved in the procurement cycle.
Assist in drafting bidding documents for review by the procurement Specialist and Manager, Procurement and Disposal Unit.
Prepare and sort approved documents for review by the evaluation team, negotiations team and contracts committee; and disseminate the documents
Obtain copies of approved bidding documents and maintain a register of bids issued, bids received and arrange for the bid opening ceremonies.

Qualifications
