Job Title: Communications and Advocacy Officer
Station: Kampala
Reports to: Program Manager

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Carry out advocacy campaign against torture in particular.
• Communicate effectively the vision, mission and program objectives of ACTV.
• Prepare and distribute ACTV magazines/newsletter and annual reports for public consumption.
• Hold press conferences as when authorized by management.
• Prepare and participate in regular awareness radio/television programs and print media.
• Coordinate activities t mark human rights day including the UN International Day in Support of Victims of Torture (June 26).
• Coordinate the implementation of trainings and awareness activities on human rights and torture.
• Visit places of detention.
• Participate strategic planning and contribute t proposal writing.

Qualifications
• University degree in Journalism or Mass Communications.

Competence and Skills:
• Computer literacy in MS office and website management.
• Proposal writing skills will be an added advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to interact professionally with clients and stake holders.
• Excellent communication skills.
• At least two years practical experience in an NGO setting is preferred.

Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Station: Kampala
Report to: Program Manager

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design and update systems for monitoring and evaluation of ACTV programs.
• Participate in the setting of indicators for the monitoring and evaluation of ACTV programs.
• Prepare periodic program audit plans.
• Prepare check lists for conducting program audit exercises.
• In conjunction with the line managers, monitor the implementation of programs and attainment of targets specified in the ACTV Strategic Plan and work plans.
• Evaluate the implementation of programs and recommend appropriate actions.
• Prepare periodic monitoring and evaluation reports.
• Provide leadership in M&E training at ACTV.
• Review all program reports to identify bottlenecks to quality service delivery.
• Document audit findings and follow-up actions.
• Undertake other duties that may be assigned.

Qualifications:
• Degree in Social Sciences or related discipline with additional knowledge and skill in developing M&E tools, methods and approaches.

Competence and skills
• Computer literacy, MS Office Suite and Statistical packages.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• At least 2 years experience in monitoring and evaluation. M&E in health project will be an added advantage.

Job Title: Finance and Administration Manager
Station: Kampala

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership in the preparation of the annual budget.
• Periodically review, test and update the organization’s accounting system to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare quarterly financial reviews, annual accounts and other reports for presentation.
• Provide financial inputs for Proposal Development, project management, human resource management policies and other areas of administration.
• Develop and oversee the implementation of and compliance with sound IT policies.
• Develop and maintain a current risk register for the organization.
• Develop and maintain a risk register for the organization and ensure that adequate measures are in place to mitigate against all the key risks.
• Oversee the performance of direct reports to ensure delivery on agreed objectives.
• Contribute to the strategic development of the organization.
• Oversee the financial audits of all projects of the organization.

Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree in Commerce (Accounts or Finance option) and a post graduate qualification in Business Administration or other related field including an accountancy qualification.

Competence and skills:
• At least 5 years experience in the financial environment at least 3 years of which shall have been at senior management level.
• Demonstrable people management skills and good interpersonal skills and ability to work with teams.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
• Advanced computer literacy; knowledge in QuickBooks is essential.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
