Job Description (Duties):

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform all reconciliations relating to the role e.g. reconcile the cash journal to the daily banking.
Reporting daily/monthly operational reports, performance indication reports for sales (dash board)
Management account and financial reporting.
Preparation of monthly detailed VAT, WHT and PAYE reconciliations and RRA returns, to cover all the statutory required forms and supporting schedules, day-to-day monitoring of compliance with company and RRA guidelines. Will be thw companies contact with RRA on tax matters and correspondences.
Ensure safe custody of all Hima Rwanda documentation in line with statutory and RRA regulation.
Ensure all cheques, deposit slips and electronic transfers received are receipted upon clearance by the bank daily.
Responsible for Rwanda office payments including Government taxes. Ensures invoices and other supplier documentation received at the depot is properly recorded and delivered to the Business Services Center in Kampala for payment processing.
In liaison with the depot manager, ensure controls, documentation and compliance in all areas of operations including monitoring cement transfers to the depot and perform daily stock reconciliation.


Necessary Qualifications:

Must have professional qualifications (CPA or equivalent) and degree in any business or analytical discipline.
Must have experience of minimum 3 years preferably in a busy commercial environment.
Good knowledge of Accounting, Tax, and Tax regulation, common spreadsheet applications and high analytical skills.
Good interpersonal skills in dealing with internal and external parties, team player with high integrity levels.
Should be assertive, attentive to detail and volume,adheres to deadlines and able to work under pressure.

Depot Assistant/Stock Controller Job in Kigali Rwanda

Job Title: Depot Assistant/Stock Controller

Job Description (Duties):

Job purpose:

The job exists in order to support the Rwanda Depot Manager. The job holder is responsible for the day to day operations at the depot, including receiving imported cement and delivering cement to customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Must interact regularly with transporters who deliver product to depot and with logistics team from Kasese Plant that dispatches cement.
Interacts with LEA Health and Safety team to ensure a safe work environment.
The job holder will ensure that there is adequate work force supplied by the contractor to cater for loading and off loading.
Regular physical counts of depot stocks and reconciling with the excel spreadsheet.
Maintains records of cement stocks on hand and cement sales and receipts. Information is used for management information and planning.
Supervises loading and off-loading of cement.
Carries out regular physical counts of stocks on hand and reconciles with the records.
Responsible for receiving cement from transporters.
Responsible for issuing cement to customers/dealers.
Recording of transactions in an excel spreadsheet and ensuring data is passed on to Business Services for recording in the company's books of accounts.


Necessary Qualifications:

University Graduate with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree. Prior experience in depot operations will be an advantage.
Computer skills, including knowledge and experience in using spreadsheets such as Excel.
Prior work experience in a busy commercial environment is an advantage.
In addition a working knowledge and understanding of Kiswahili, French and Kinyarwanda is a prerequisite.
Energetic individual, pleasant, good communicator with a good temperament.

Job Purpose:

To maintain a generative Safety Culture within the company and among the transporters through promotion, management and maintenance of Kigali CSC, Transporters in terms of:

Maintenance and management of safety policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety laws.
Provide advice on all health and safety matters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervises all the staff and the contractors on site to ensure that they comply with the safety rules and regulations.
Talks to the transporters on issues concerning road safety.
Liaise with the government authorities on matters of compliance with occupational health and safety in the terminal.
Development implementation and updating of required written safety and health programs and plans like hazard assessment and communication.
Conducts periodic safety and health walk through inspections of all workplace facilities to ensure that they are safe.
Organizes and coordinates safety training programmes at the Kigali Head Office, to ensure that employees comply with the safety requirements.
Establish and monitor a program for reporting and investigating near miss situations and confirm follow up actions until completion to avoid accidents and incidents in the plant.
Coordinate truck inspection for compliance, and does soft capture end month reports.
Implement safety policies and procedures to be followed by company personnel in compliance with local rules and regulations.
Participate in all safety committee meetings.
Carry out road patrols to check on compliance.
Gives guidance in case of an emergency situation.
Overseas all that pertains to road safety at the Kigali depot.
Ensures compliance with local legislation of the government on matters that pertain to occupational health and safety.


Necessary Qualifications:

Degree/Diploma in Humanities, engineering or related technical field e.t.c
Health safety and environment certification.
Facilitation and presentation skills.
Knowledge of local traffic, health and safety regulation acts.
Computer literate.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work as an independent but also with in a team environment.
Ability to identify problems and recommend workable solutions.

Sales Clerk Job Vacancy at Hima Cement

Job Title : Sales Clerk
REPORT TO: Depot Controller

Job Description (Duties):

Job Purpose:

The job exists to ensure payment and sales transactions are posted correctly on customer accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Posting of payments to customer accounts based on bank statements.
Issuing delivery notes to each customer before cement is supplied to the depot. The delivery notes will be for self-collect cement from the depot and for delivered cement to customers.
For delivered cement, the Sales Clerk will be required to provide the transporter with a transport order.
Invoicing each sales transaction for the Rwanda depot.
Dispatch customer statements on a monthly basis and will assist the Depot Controller to resolve/address complaints from customers regarding their accounts.
Maintaining and updating the pending order list.
Responsible with the depot assistant for prioritizing supplies to customers.
Preparing the daily sales summary for review by the Depot Controller.
Preparing Proforma Invoices for prospective customers (supported by the office administrator)
Handling walk in customers (supported by the office administrator)
Handling telephone queries from customers (supported by the sales administrator)


Necessary Qualifications:

Undergraduate Degree in Accounting OR part qualification as a chartered or certified public accountant.
1 or 2 years prior work experience.
Work experience in Rwanda will be an added advantage.
Fluency in French and/or Kinyarwanda will be an added advantage.
Computer literacy; ability to use spreadsheets and Ms Word. Ability to learn quickly and be trained in SAP or either customized software for the Rwanda depot.
Knowledge of Rwanda tax regulations will be an added advantage.
