Job Title: RESEARCH COORDINATOR

Job Purpose: To work as an independent research coordinator in order to support all clinical and laboratory studies in the Unit: Ensuring correct and timely conduct of the studies according to approved protocols and ensuring regulatory and GCP / GCLP compliance.

Roles& Responsibilities:

1. Understanding the objectives and design of studies carried out in the Unit

2. Providing input into study design if required

3. Support planning and implementation of Unit studies

4. Maintain records on progress of studies within the Unit

5. Identify challenges in study implementation, suggesting corrective action where appropriate

6. Coordinate appropriate and timely regulatory approvals of Unit studies

7. Be responsible for maintaining regulatory documentation

Previous work experience required:

Job Title: QUALITY AND SAFETY OFFICER

Job Purpose: To manage all aspects of the laboratory Quality Assurance programme as well as the health and safety function, including security, across the operations of the MRC stations.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Ensure that the laboratory quality management system is established, implemented and maintained in accordance with GCLP or ISO 15189 standards.

2. Manage the laboratory internal audit program

3. Coordinate laboratory accreditation and external audit activities

4. Train personnel on quality management system activities.

5. Reports on the performance of the laboratory quality management system to senior management for review and as a basis for improvement of the quality management system.

6. Develop, implement and monitor the Unit’s health and safety continuous improvement plan in line with MRC 5 years strategic approach

8. Indentify health and safety training needs that develop training programs which target appropriate staff.

11. To oversee security arrangements at the Unit and staff housing facilities and liaise directly with the security firm providing these services.

Education, Skills and Experience needed:

• Degree in Science field. Qualification in health and safety or related field. Training and certification in QA/QC management.

• Post graduate training laboratory safety and QA/QC management is of an advantage.

• Substantial QA/QC and safety experience in health research organization or health related industry.

• Supervisory skills in similar organization

• Safety, QA/QC knowledge in providing quality services in research and service delivery with continuous improvement and satisfaction.

• Knowledge and skills in health safety within the HIV/AIDS clinical research organization.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
The US Mission Mailroom processes thousands of mail annually, both incoming and outgoing, and disburses mail to various departments and agencies in a timely and efficient manner. The incumbent performs mail clerk duties with a primary responsibility for the overall receipt, inspection, distribution, and dispatch of diplomatic mail pouch, courier service mail and local mail. Mail service is provided to all 6 agencies i.e. DOS, USAID, CDC, NIH, PC, DOD resident at Post. Serves  as backup receptionist/telephone operator at the Chancery.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
NOTE:  All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1.  Education required:  Completion of secondary school (both ‘O and A’) level is required.
2. Work Experience required: One and half years of mail handling experience are required either in a diplomatic or government organization.
3. Language required:  Level II (Limited knowledge) in both written and spoken) English is required.
4. Knowledge required: Knowledge of Department of State mail handling instructions, organization, functions, personnel and practices of agency mission in which employed is required. Must be familiar with and able to interpret and adhere to the FAM and Diplomatic Mail policies and procedures. SELECTION PROCESS
