Principal Accountabilities

• Actively and effectively lead all sales related initiatives aimed at developing business, volumes and increase revenue

• To identify and solicit for new clients and business opportunities with the principle aim of increasing the company’s market share, revenue and profit.

• Focus on selling Airfreight & Ocean product/overland as primary responsibility with a view to expanding DGF market share and boosting volume and revenue growth

• Develop Marketing strategies for specific vertical(s) along with Key Account Managers

• Identify and develop potential, sustainable customer relationships

• Supervise the activities of the sales department

• Lead and manage the sales department

• Interact regularly with the local management teams and develop close and cooperative relationships, to ensure the customer’s expectations are met.

Required Knowledge /Skills /Experience

• Mature individual with not less than 7 years relevant marketing and sales experience in logistics and freight forwarding industry

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in management position

• University Degree

• Excellent Presentation skills

• Excellent Communication skills, spoken and written

• Strong Ocean and Airfreight knowledge

• Experienced with Market Intelligence

The Government of Uganda under the Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development, with support from the International Labour Organisation/ International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (ILO/IPEC) is implementing a Child Labour and- Education Project. The overall objective of the project is to contribute to elimination of child labour in Uganda through profiling child labour as a national priority issue for achieving education for all. The project will strengthen collaboration between the Ministry of Education and Sports and the Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development in the effort to increase educational opportunities as a viable alternative to combat the worst forms of child labour. The Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development, invites applications from qualified Ugandans to fill the post below which exists under the Project.

JOB TITLE: CHILD LABOUR RESOURCE PERSON

REPORTS TO: DIPECTOR FOR LABOUR Duration of the contract: ONE YEAR

Main Duties and Responsibilities

    Develop awareness raising materials on the linkages between child labour and education.
    Develop simplified versions/information materials on the Statutory Regulation on the National list of hazardous work and the Employment (Employment of Children) Regulations.
    Develop a module to the ILO – IPEC information kit on mainstreaming child labour concerns in education sector plans and programmes specific to the Uganda context.
    Integrate the Regulation on Apprenticeship into the national skills training curricula and the BTVET Strategy.

Requirement:

    An Honours Bachelor's Degree plus Masters Degree in one of the following fields; Social Work Social Administration, Development , Education
    A minimum of five (5) years relevant working experience on child labour programming.
    Policy analysis.
    Child Labour and Children's rights Legislation a Communication skills.
    Results oriented and self-driven.
    Interpersonal and communication skills.

POST: DEPUTY DIRECTOR

Job description:

He or she shall be responsible for the following:

    Deputizing the Director of COCTU.
    Preparing timely briefs, quarterly and annual activity workplans / reports and other information relating to the Secretariat for submission to Council and other relevant authorities
    Managing and safe guarding all Council property.
    Planning and organizing seminars, conferences, workshops and staff meetings aimed at promoting the effective implementation of the National Tsetse and Trypanosomiasis programme.
    Carrying out such other duties within the objectives and functions of the Council as the Director may direct from time to time.

Requirement:

    Applicants must be Ugandans with a basic degree from a recognised University in any of the fields of: Veterinary Medicine, Human Medicine and Applied Medical/Veterinary Entomology or Parasitology plus a post graduate degree at level of a Master of Science in any of the above relevant fields.
    Applicants' should have a minimum of working experience of 6 years at a managerial level in any of the fields above dealing with tsetse and Trypanosomiasis Control and possess a demonstrated capacity in organization, co-ordination and financial management.

PRINCIPAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

DEPARTMENT: Strategy and Business Development

REPORTING TO: Strategy and Business Development Manager

JOB PURPOSE: To develop and implement business strategies that are responsive to UCDA’s stakeholder needs, and produce required papers, reports and documents in line with the departmental mandate.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

    Develop strategy initiatives for the coffee sub- sector, and make appropriate recommendations to Management for the benefit of stakeholders.
    Study and review relevant legislation and regulations and advise Management on compliance and adoption.
    Provide technical input in the preparation of presentations and policy documents, review reports and documents, and prepare briefs for the attention of Management.
    Undertake and manage research, and ad hoc special projects under the guidance of the Strategy and Business Development Manager and the Management team.
    Provide support towards the preparation of the departmental budget and work plan, and coordinate the development of annual budgets and work plans in liaison with other departments.
    Monitor and implement the M&E framework and make recommendations for setting up systems designed to improve service delivery.
    Monitor the progress of implementation of the UCDA Vote performance indicators, and coordinate the submission of quarterly progress reports and annual performance reports to different stakeholders – OPM, MoFPED, MAAIF and UCDA Management.
    Carry out such other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirement:

    Honors degree in Statistics, Economics, Planning , Business Administration, Social Sciences, Agricultural Economics or in any other related field.
    Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Planning, Social Sciences, and Agricultural Economics or in any other related field.
    Post graduate qualification in Project planning or monitoring and evaluation is an added advantage.

Experience

    A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in planning, monitoring, strategy development.

Personal Competences

    Should be a self-starter, dynamic and result oriented individual with highly developed analytical and report writing skills.
    Must have the ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
    Should have good knowledge of computer management and applications.
    Should be a result and team oriented individual with good presentation; communication and networking skills.

Position; Project Coordinator – MHealth

Project Profile: MHealth is an intervention in public health that is most commonly used in reference to using mobile communication devices. The mHealth field has emerged as a sub-segment of eHealth, the use of information and communication technology (ICT) such as computers, mobile phones, communications satellite, patient monitors, etc., for health services and information. MHealth applications include the use of mobile devices in collecting community and clinical health data, delivery of healthcare information to practitioners and other actors in the health sectors.

Purpose of position: To provide leadership in all mhealth interventions for World Vision Uganda and ensure that roll out of projects using mhealth technology are compliant to the ICT laws and regulations of the country and are compatible to the global IT standards of World Vision.

Project Management

    Take the lead in the roll out of mhealth projects in World Vision Uganda by ensuring that the projects are using the most appropriate innovative and cost effective technologies.
    Provide necessary technical guidance to project implementation during the course of the project
    Manage, supervise and build capacity of mhealth staff. Monitoring, Reporting and Evaluation
    Ensure that all mhealth and other related deliverables are achieved according to the detailed implementation plan.
    To work with the Program office in the preparation of quality project reports and ensuring that they are submitted on time to support offices and donors.
    Work with health staff and program development team in the roll out of baseline surveys and evaluation of project

Documentation, Research and Learning

    Generate relevant reports from mhealth systems and ensure that mhealth stakeholder have access to information.
    Documentation of best practices and success stories in the application of mhealth interventions.
    Identify innovative trends and new technologies that can be applied or used in WV health programming.
    Contribute to the testing, appraisal, eventual promotion and adoption of innovative ICT4D applications within WVU and among WVU partner organizations

Capacity Building

    Provide or create venues for learning for other WV staff to learn and apply Mhealth in programming by conducting mhealth trainings and exhibitions.

Partnership Development

    Liaise with development agencies and partners on collaborative work related to mhealth and other initiatives

Requirement:

    A university degree in IT or related field with further training in computer programming and IT project management approaches.
    2-3 years of relevant professional experience in the mhealth domain as well as exposure to the full project cycle (i.e., programming, project processing to project administration); International NGO experience or in communications industry will be an advantage.
    Experienced and having keen interest in mhealth in the contexts of Uganda/East Africa.
    Proficient in the use of a range of innovative technologies. These may include mobile or PC-based ICTs, phone (SMS) and SMS to web technologies and broadcasting. Eager to discover and explore mhealth application appropriate to WVU working contexts.
    Experience in the integration of new technologies in development programs like health, education, water and sanitation with an intention of improving the well being of children.
    Experienced team worker.
    Encourages cooperation within and between teams and promotes the value of diversity in teams, such as in different views, culture, nationality, and gender.
