Job Title: CHILD LABOUR RESOURCE PERSON

The Government of Uganda under the Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development, with support from the International Labour Organisation/ International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (ILO/IPEC) is implementing a Child Labour and- Education Project. The overall objective of the project is to contribute to elimination of child labour in Uganda through profiling child labour as a national priority issue for achieving education for all. The project will strengthen collaboration between the Ministry of Education and Sports and the Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development in the effort to increase educational opportunities as a viable alternative to combat the worst forms of child labour. The Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development, invites applications from qualified Ugandans to fill the post below which exists under the Project.

JOB TITLE: CHILD LABOUR RESOURCE PERSON

REPORTS TO: DIPECTOR FOR LABOUR Duration of the contract: ONE YEAR

Main Duties and Responsibilities

    Develop awareness raising materials on the linkages between child labour and education.
    Develop simplified versions/information materials on the Statutory Regulation on the National list of hazardous work and the Employment (Employment of Children) Regulations.
    Develop a module to the ILO – IPEC information kit on mainstreaming child labour concerns in education sector plans and programmes specific to the Uganda context.
    Integrate the Regulation on Apprenticeship into the national skills training curricula and the BTVET Strategy.

Requirement:

    An Honours Bachelor's Degree plus Masters Degree in one of the following fields; Social Work Social Administration, Development , Education
    A minimum of five (5) years relevant working experience on child labour programming.
    Policy analysis.
    Child Labour and Children's rights Legislation a Communication skills.
    Results oriented and self-driven.
    Interpersonal and communication skills.
