Key responsibilities
• Keep track of upcoming proposals, research potentials sources of funding

Qualifications and Experience
*A Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Development Studies, Humanities or closely related
* A Post-graduate qualification in project management is essential
* Master's degree is desirable ' Basic training in financial management
* A minimum of five (5) years hands-on experience in program management in general and at least 3years with a specific focus on grants management in an International NGO
* Proven experience sourcing/developing winning proposals and managing grants from major donors - USAID, Ell, DF1D, USAID, SIDA Ireland Aid and/or others in Uganda '
*Extensive computer proficiency is a must

Knowledge and Experience:
• At least five (5) years working experience, three [3] of which should be in corporate planning and reporting
• Computer literate

Competencies required
• Good grasp of corporate planning and reporting, and proven competences in designing reports or working with design houses for publications;
• Good written and verbal communication, strong interpersonal skills with capacity to work with people at all levels, including external stakeholders;
• Quickly understands the business issues and challenges of organization and industry;

EMPLOYMENT TERMS:
Successful candidates for the advertised positions will sign a three (3)-year renewable employment contract with the Commission.

Job Title: Network Control Manager
Reports to: Network Support Manager

Job purpose
To manage the power system network and the SCADA/ DMS infrastructure for UMEME taking into account all aspects of power system control, monitoring and performance evaluation, leadership and power system operations.
Key responsibilities
• Manage Control Centre operations
• Measure, control and monitor all System operating procedures
• Deliver safe, reliable and high quality electrical energy to customers
• Install, commission and put to work hardware, software and communications systems (SCADA) to measure, monitor and control, on a 24 hour basis, electrical energy acquisition, distribution and supply to customers.
• Manage load shedding process in liaison with UETCL to maintain the power system integrity and to inform customers accordingly.
• Manage power system outage schedules in liaison with power system maintenance managers and informing the public accordingly
• Develop, maintain and implement safe power system operating and work procedures to ensure the safety of plant, equipment, employees and the public.
• Develop, maintain and implement emergency J preparedness plans and System Operating Memoranda (SOM) for the distribution system.
• Manage human and financial resources in accordance with company guidelines.

Required qualifications and experience
• BSc Electrical Engineering Degree
• At least six (8) years post qualification experience in power system operations.
• Certificate in SCADA systems management from a recognized electricity utility training

Knowledge and Skills
• Computer literacy at an advanced level
• Detailed knowledge of power system" operations in an electricity distribution environment
• Load forecasting
• Organizational behavior, people skills and customer relationships management
• Good knowledge of the electricity supply industry.
