Job Title: Data Warehouse Architect (MOH Secondment) - SURE Project
Overall Responsibilities:
The Data Warehouse Architect is a secondment by SURE to the Ministry of Health Resource Centre. S/he participates in and coordinates the design, development and deployment of the Pharmaceutical Information Portal (PIP) data warehouse and business intelligence system for the Ministry of Health. S/he ensures the quality of the developed dimensional model, ETL, Bl layer and documentation, and supervises the contractors ensuring that project implementation is on schedule. S/he works very closely with the stakeholders to identify the pharmaceutical and health supplies information needs for the data warehouse ensuring that the business intelligence functionality of the data warehouse is responsive to these needs.
Qualifications:
1) Degree in Computer Science or in related field with relevant experience of not less than 5 years. Masters degree in the field of Computer Science is added advantage 2) Five years experience in designing, implementing and maintaining large scale SQL Server database instances with client/server configurations including performance tuning and database optimization 3) Extensive and comprehensive knowledge of and experience in development of data warehousing solutions in SQL Server 2005/2008, SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), OLAP cubes and Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD) 4) Expert level data mining/modeling skills and deep understanding of OLTP and OLAP (dimensional) database design with full life cycle experience in data warehouse design, development, tuning and support 5) Five years experience with Visual Studio and C# development environments 6) MCTS SQL Server 2005/2008 Business Intelligence Development and Maintenance certification a plus 7) Project Management Certification (PMP, CPM, CAPM, Prince2, Project*) a plus 8) Knowledge of basic statistics and analysis a plus 9) Basic knowledge of Linux/Windows Server installation, administration and good understanding of IP addressing for enterprise networks 10) Project assurance and quality testing on systems development projects an added advantage 11) In-depth knowledge of the Uganda health system including its routine Information system (HMIS) is a plus 12) Excellent communication and documentation skills and ability to work with minimum supervision
