"The American Embassy is seeking for an individual for the position of Administrative Clerk/Rover to support all Embassy sections."

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Incumbent provides full administrative and clerical support to all Embassy sections including filling in for all direct hire/EFM Office Management Specialists during temporary absences/periods of short staffing. Incumbent shall assist in managing special projects including COTELs and POTUS' and escort pouch when required. Incumbent shall work on temporary basis and report directly to the section chief of the section assigning duties

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1. Education required: Completion of high school is required.
2. Prior Work Experience: Two years of administrative or secretarial experience is required.
3. Language required: Level III (good working knowledge) in English is required.
4. Knowledge required: Knowledge of correspondence procedures and general customer service. Knowledge of office protocol matters, logistics and related office requirements
.5. Skills and Abilities required: Typing level II (20wpm) and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook and Internet; ability to work flexible hours; must be tactful, possess good judgment and be able to communicate with employees at all levels; ability to accurately proofread written material to eliminate errors; well-organized, ability to meet deadlines and to work in a multi-tasking environment and ability to work and coordinate with others

SELECTION PROCESS

When equally qualified, US Citizen Eligible Family Members (USEFMs) and U.S. Veterans are given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate specifically address the required qualifications above in the application.


ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA

1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and visa status in determining successful candidacy.

2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.

3. Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.

4. Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their appointment.

5. Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
