1. Bachelors’ degree in Journalism/Mass Communication (at least second class upper) from a reputable university with at least three years of print newsroom experience.

ii) A good understanding of the relevant regulatory framework for the newspaper’s operation.

Background
Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Senior Economist, the National Economist advises Senior Management on economic development policies and trends, as well as on relevant linkages between these and UNDP’s country programme in Uganda.

Duties and Responsibilities
Summary of Key Functions:

Experience in the design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects.
Publications and active participation in international conferences on development issues would be an asset.

Language:

Fluency in written and spoken English.
Excellent written and presentation skills.
Knowledge UN and national language of the duty station is an asset.
