Job Purpose:
The medical coordinator is accountable to the General Manager. This position is responsible for ensuring emergency response to rescues and evacuations, Care Management and overseeing cost management of service provision through the service delivery network. All this is done in line with the organizational broad strategies and core values.

Responsibilities and Duties:

* To ensure general running of the units in terms of service provision, equipment and ambulance maintenance and hygiene.
* To ensure manning of the 24 hour nurses helpline.
* Prompt response to approved emergency rescues and evacuations.
* Daily hospital visits for all members hospitalized in Kigali and those that are upcountry by liaising with the providers
* Coordinating hospitalizations for members in the region and abroad.
* Timely authorization and issuance of committal letters for all approved hospitalized members and updating the authorization system.
* Monthly preparation of analytical reports.
* To coordinate activities with the membership department regarding new and renewal business.
* Feedback to relationship managers / marketing department for both individual and corporate renewals.
* To provide office and operational support for underwriting activities in e.g. health promotion month, corporate health promotion, and wellness day.
* To assist in underwriting of medicals and post-hospitalization cases when necessary.
* To arrange for premium loading on new or renewal business where necessary.

Necessary Qualifications:

* Should have a diploma in Registered Nursing and Midwifery with specific training and experience in Emergency Nursing.
* Must be computer literate.
* At least 10 years of relevant experiences.
* Proven team leader with exceptional people skills.
* Possess strong analytical, communication and presentation skills.
* Proven planning and organization skills with demonstrated maturity in areas of integrity, credibility and trust.
* Well developed passion for attainment of targeted results.
