Job Objective
Reporting to the Project Officer, the Project Assistant will provide technical guidance in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the TB REACH Project in Luwero or Kiboga Districts with specific focus on increasing TB case detections and treatment success rates through promotion of DOTS and community-based activities with health workers, VHTs, and beneficiaries,

Description of Duties
• Work with various stakeholders to design and plan outreach initiatives and mobilize communities to attend health promotion activities,
• Support Village Health Teams to promote sensitization, TB -DOTS services, referrals and a awareness- raising about TB.
• Organize comprehensive community awareness activities about TB/HIV symptom detection, diagnosis, treatment, drug completion, and reducing stigma.
• Coordinate the design and implementation of relevant health education activities.
• Build stakeholder capacity to implement TB and collaborative TB/HIV activities independently.
• Train relevant stakeholders on promoting healthy behaviors to prevent TB infection; provide follow up support throughout the project implementation process-
• Participate in the identification and development of appropriate TB education and control materials, ensuring that they are appropriate to the identified needs of the beneficiaries.
• Coordinate the identification of procurement needs; manage inventory and distribution documentation and ensure accurate inventory.
• Establish, coordinate and monitor a participatory community-based monitoring system for activities using VMTs and integrate lessons learned into the overall project strategy,
• Collect relevant indicative data from the health units and process it for monitoring, evaluation and reporting purposes.
• Manage and account for the resources allocated to TB project activities.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Accountability

Qualifications
Degree or higher Diploma in Heath Education, Social Science or closely related field.

• Experience in conducting training and interventions the community level for community health workers beneficiaries.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the job holder will lead implementation of the MSE component of the STOP TB project in Wakiso, Luwero, Kiboga, and Kyankwanzi Districts.

• The MSE Officer will focus on improving data collection, monitoring, and tracking of client case detection (CDR) and treatment success rates (TSR) for Beneficiaries using the National TB and Leprosy Programme guidelines.
• S/he will promote involvement of project staff, local government, health workers, and communities in strengthening and utilizing existing M and E frameworks and health management information systems at district and community level,
• S/he will also design and monitor a project M and E database to track relevant indicators and targets using information gathered from nationally approved forms, including health facility data, DOTS service availability, application of effective monitoring measures, application of collaborative management of TB/ HIV guidelines, and Village Health Team Involvement in TB interventions.

• Increase community participation in TB activities using established structures.
• Liaise with District Health Teams to promote, review/develop, track and use community-driven health indicators in health system planning and identify a body of community-based best practices that can be translated into scale-up activities.
• Work with all relevant stakeholders to address training and capacity-building needs and deliver relevant interventions to the community, VHTs and health workers in the project area; design and deliver appropriate interventions.
• Liaise with the district health officials to assess the health facility infrastructure needs and plan for the provision of those within the project work plan and budget.
• Monitor performance indicators and progress against milestones.

Accountability

Qualifications
• Degree in Health or a closely related field with postgraduate or post basic training in public health; preference to experience with TB programmes.

Relevant experience
• 3 years working experience, preferably with a Local or International NGO, implementing health development Hated projects, using community-based
approaches
Experience implementing activities in HIWAIDS, TB and DOTS.
Experience in conducting training at the community level for community health workers.

The position, located at Head Office, reports to the Senior Accountant, Corporate Accounts (General Ledger). Its primary purpose is to maintain an accurate Payroll and staff benefits payments system.

KEY RESULT AREAS:
• Prepare the payroll on a monthly basis in accordance with approved Salary structure and statutory rules,

•Ensure key Interface for Internal and External Audit activities are relation to payroll and Staff benefits.

• Ensure that all statutory deductions duly effected on the payroll are processed to the relevant organs; NSSF, URA and other Local Authorities on due dates.
•Generate Payroll payment schedules to Human Resource Department for verification before processing for disbursement.

THE PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:

The desired person should have the following essential requirements.
• Honours Degree in Commerce or Business Administration or Finance or equivalent qualification.
• Professional accounting qualification of a recognized institution such as ACCA, CPA and CIMA will be added advantage.

• Must have a minimum of four (4) years experience in a large volume and busy computerised Payroll Unit.

Job Title: Control Engineer-Software

The position under the Operations and Maintenance Department is i located at the System Control Centre Lugogo and reports to the Senior Control Engineer.

Purpose:
The purpose of the position is to manage/maintain the SCADA System Software on a daily basis.

KEY RESULT AREAS:
a) Control system adaptation works when new stations/objects to be remotely monitored are introduced
• Build the new station or add new objects to existing stations database using the Data Engineering tool.
• Generate appropriate new system displays whenever new objects are added.
• Generate system reports whenever new objects are added.
• Update as built drawings reflecting new objects added.
• Configure and Implement ICCP objects whenever need for Control Centres to share SCAOA/EMS data arise.
• Point list data compilation.
• TSystem integration-Point to Point tests.
• SCADA/EMS documentation kept updated.

(b) Data Backup/Archiving
• Perform regular database backup (Avanti and DE-Oracle database).
• Perform regular system backup (HP TRU 64 Unix platform)
•Perform daily checks on system traps/error log messages.
•Data archiving procedures and access routines are implemented


Database Maintenance
• Prepare procedures for diagnosis and frame work for software troubleshooting
• Run maintenance routines like debugging autogens etc.
• Substations integration protocols documentation, implementation
• Restoration from backups (back-ins/restorations)
• Locate and correct possible database errors (introduced during database generation etc)
• Client images of computers that have Microsoft Operating System (Windows-XP, Windows 2000 etc) using data backup/recovery tools like Norton Ghost etc.

(d) Control System Maintenance Log
• Suspected errors in S/W and H/W logged.
• Software correction/modifications

(e) License Maintenance
• Software licensees are updated in time so as to maintain system availability all the time.

• User administration - provide system operators with support on all software related problems.
