Reports to: Training Manager
The capacity Building and technical coordinator is a member of the Human Resources department based at the Head Office Kampala. She/He is responsible for developing, implementing and managing the Human resources development programs in FINCA Uganda in line with the HR development plans and Human Resources Management Manual.

Key Result Areas
  • Develop, implement and monitor the implementation of HR development programs in line with HRM manual and HR Development plan
  • Develop Training proposals, source for training and capacity building funds and identify cost-saving methods of organization wide training opportunities in line with the donor requirements
  • Developing the HR department strategy, annual operational activity plan and department Budget
Ideal Profile:
  • A Degree in business/ humanities/HR and Psychology related fields from a recognized institution. A Post graduate qualification in MBA(HR), MHRM or M.Organizational psychology is an added advantage.
  • At least 2 years work experience in a related role.
  • Should have attended a Training of Trainees course, knoledge of writting project proposals.
  • Flexibility in Traveling

Job Title: Communication Linkages Technical Advisor

Reports to: Executive Director

Job Description
The community Linkages Technical Advisor will work closely with relevant departments of the MOH, Community Health Department in the respectve RRHs and GHs and other implementing partners(USAID-funded and non USAId- Funded) to plan for and provide required technical support for strengthening health facility.

Key responsibilities
  • Design and implement appropriate facility community linkages interventions, within the overall strategic framework of the sustain project
  • In coordination with facility management, supervise and monitor performance of facility-based community Linkages Coordinators and Community M&E Officer
  • Provide technical assistance to the health facility teams to strengthen community-facility linkages aimed at improving patient adherence, retention, self management, and psychosocial services
Minimum Qualification
At a minimum, the candidate must possess a Masters Degree in Public Health and extensive experience in HIV/AIDS care and treatment. A post graduate diploma in project planning and management would be an added advantage.

Experience
More than 6 years in project implementation, management and community work.

Project Coodinator Job at Uganda Electricity Generation Company Ltd.

Job Title: Projector Coordinator
Reports to: Technical Manager

Key Role
To monitor the consultants’ and contractors’ management, coordination and control of engineering and construction of two small hydropower projects (SHP Nyagak 111 and ShP Muzizi); advice UEGCL on any required actions to ensure compliance with the agreed responsibilities/ risk undertakings in accordance with the project implementation plan and budget

Tasks:
1. Liaising with the Project Engineer/ Consultant or the Transaction adviser in the various aspects of the project.
• Coordinating the various project activities of the various parties involved
• Reviewing of the Contractors’ Quality Assurance Program(QAP) and Quality Control Program (QCP)
• Review of test methods, procedure, and test programs
• Checking the Contractors’ co-ordination of interfaces between equipment requirements and civil work drawings
2. Carry Out workshop inspections
• Approving workshop test procedures and methods
• Liaise with the Consultant for review and approval of all civil work drawings provided by the contractor.
3. Carry out Procurement monitoring
• Clarifying initial needs at site for all parties concerned, arranging in advance facilities to be provided at the project at site, e.g. initial accommodation
4. Liaising with Surveyors for field Works to Ensure that they fulfill their tasks
• Ensuring that the various implementing agencies adhere to the agreed terms of project closure and site move- out
• Prepare a comprehensive Operation and Maintenance Manual including all parts of each of the projects’ facilities

Minimum Qualifications and experience
• Minimum Bachelors degree, either in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical) or Economics/ Business Management. A combination of both would be an asset.
• At least 5 years experience in managing infrastructure projects in East Africa, preferably in the power sector. Prior work experience in managing hydropower projects would be an asset
• Demonstrated project management skills. Strong communication skills in English (oral and written) required.
• Experience of whole project life cycle, able to operate in the initial conceptual design stage, in the depth system testing, and at each stage in between.
Other requirements:
Valid driving permit
Age limit: Not above 50 years of age

Key Accountabilities

Tasks
  • Lines manage the western Uganda staff team, whilst respecting technical support supervision lines which will operate from Kampala. The staff team will be comprised of technical officers, project officers, operations officers, finance and administration assistants, drivers, and support staff.
