Key Functions:
  • Provide technical guidance on participatory planning, enterprise selection and technology development for advisory services and technology.
  • Coordinate and supervise the preparation of annual work plans, budgets and technical guidelines for the department

Person Specifications:
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in, Agricultural related Sciences, Agribusiness.
  • A master of sciences in related field plus a PhD degree.
  • Post graduate qualifications in management added added advantage
Experience:
At least 7 years relevant experience, 3 of which, must have been at head of department level, with increasing seniority and responsibilities demonstrated in the planning management administration of agricultural or rural development projects in the public sector, perfomance monitoring and financing.

Job Title: Information and Communications Officer
Reports to: Executive Director

Job Purpose:
Support the executive Director in terms of NAADS relations with the public at large, and specifically meeting the general information needs of stake holders. Assist in the coordination of activities related to assessment of information needs and sources; and the development of a strategy for coalition and managing information and knowledge on NAADS as well as the agricultural sector at large, and making this available to different stakeholders .

Functions:
  • Develop, implement and review information and communication plans, programmes and strategies that support the advancement of the good public relations and market the coorporate image of NAADS.
  • Advice NAADS management on public relations matters.
  • Monitor and analyze media reporting to promote positive media relations
  • Prepare press release, media briefs, and magazines that inform the public on salient and critical issues of the NAADS secretariat.

  • Bachelors Degree in mass communication, BA/BSc Marketing, B/com- marketing, SWASA, BA(sociology) plus Masters degree in a related field.

Job Title: System Operations Manager

Reports to: Chief Technical Officer

Job Purpose:
to manage the operation of the power system network and SCADA/DMS/GIS infrastructure for UMEME taking into account all aspects of power system control, monitoring and performance evaluation, leadership and power system operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the control Center Operations
  • Ensure all network operations comply with the system Operating regulations.
  • Ensure delivery of safe, reliable and high quality electrical energy to the customers
  • Install, commission and put to work hardware, software and communications systems (SCADA) to measure, monitor and control, on a 24 hour basis, electrical energy acquisition, distribution and supply to the customers.
  • Manage power system outage schedules in liaison with power system maintenance managers to ensure fast restoration times.
Required Qualification and Experience:
  • BSc Electrical Engineering Degree
  • At least eight(8) years post qualification experience in power system operations
  • Certificate in SCADA systems management from a recognized electricity utility training institution will be of added advantage.

  • Computer literacy at an advanced level
  • Detailed knowledge of power system operations in an electricity distribution environment
