ANPPCAN Uganda Chapter seeks to recruit competent dynamic and creative individuals to join her team of passionate child advocacy
professionals in the following position:

Job Title : Programme Officer Research and Policy Advocacy
Reports to : Programme Coordinator Research, Information and Policy Advocacy
No. of vacancies : 1
Duty Station : National Secretariat, Kampala
Major Responsibilities
• Undertake relevant research activities, collect, review, analyze and disseminate available and relevant information so as to
inform and guide ANPPCAN’s advocacy and public education work.
• Participate in lobbying and advocacy activities and contribute to positive advocacy outcomes at national and district levels.
• Identify, build and maintain strategic linkages, relations, collaborations and networks with partners and other stakeholders in
planning, implementing, policy influencing and advocacy at National level.
• Prepare budgets and work plans, and ensure adherence to the approved work plans and budgets in program implementation.
• Undertake program monitoring, documentation and reporting in compliance with agreed organizational standards.
• Assist in identifying funding opportunities and writing grant proposals.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of a Degree in Social Work and Social Administration, Social Sciences, Project Planning and Management,
Development Management or research and information related field obtained from a recognized institution.
• At least two years relevant experience in carrying out Social Research assignments and Advocacy initiatives /advocacy
programs in at local and national level.
• Good working knowledge and experience in the use of varied research methodologies and data analysis packages such as
SPSS is a must.
• Hands on experience in proposal writing, budgeting and budget management
• Good interpersonal skills; ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
• Age range of 23 – 35 years.

Major Responsibilities
• Receive, review and process requests for disbursement of funds by programme implementing partners.
• Receive, review and scrutinize funds accountability from partners for accuracy, reasonableness and appropriateness.
• Ensure compliance by ANPPCAN;s partners with financing guidelines, procedures and standards.
• Maintain complete and up-to-date programme books of accounts.
• Prepare and submit regular consolidated programme, financial and administrative reports.
• Build the capacity of ANPPCAN’S staff and partners in financial management.
• Undertake any other assignments necessary for the effective management of the programme.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• A Bachelors Degree in Commerce (Accounting) or Business Administration (Accounting) or Professional qualification (ACCA,
CPA). Additional qualifications in Administration, Project Planning and Management or Human Resource Management are
advantageous.
• A minimum of 3 years working experience in accounting and finance with experience in a supervisory or management tasks
preferably in the NGO sector.
• Proficiency in IT applications such as Word, Excel, Access, as well as database and accounting packages is a must.
Knowledge of “quick books” is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills with good command of spoken and written English.
• Innovativeness, flexibility and ability to manage multiple and competing demands.

Legal Assistant Job Vacancy in Uganda at ANPPCAN UGANDA CHAPTER

Job Title : Legal Assistant
Reports to : Programme Officer, Arua District Branch Office

Major Responsibilities
• Receiving and handling cases of child rights violations through the provision of legal guidance, legal follow up and
representation within the justice system.
• Ensuring appropriate and effective referral of abused children for other support services as may be required.
• Undertaking community education and awareness activities on child rights issues.
• Build the capacity of duty bearers in the provision of legal services for abused children
• Engaging with key actors and duty bearers at community and district level in order to ensure an effective and child friendly
support system for abused children.
• Participating in the development and implementation of programmes and other practical measurements for the protection of
children from abuse, neglect and exploitation through community mobilization, awareness and education on the rights of
children at district and community level as well as follow up and provision of services to abused children.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Law from a recognized institution with a practicing certificate that is admissible in the High
Court of Uganda.
• At least one year’s experience in the provision of Legal Aid services either as a volunteer or regular staff in a professional
setting.
• A sound understanding of the legal, policy and institutional framework for the protection of children’s rights in Uganda is a
must.
• Psycho-social competencies are advantageous
• Willing and able to work well at a community level in a rural environment.
