Job Description (Duties):
* Plans, organizes, and controls all the day-to-day activities of the institution.
* Collaborates with Chief Executive Officer in the overall administration of VFC.
* Performs supervisory duties of the 4 core departments, namely Finance/Admin, HR, MIS and Branch Operations.
* Coordinates activities of different departments and secures adequate information flow among the departments.
* Ensures that the targets set by the branches agreed with the management and approved by the BOD are reached.
* Develops various operational, financial, marketing and monitoring strategies to ensure maximum profits commensurate with the best interest of shareholders, customers, employee, and the public.
* Monitors on a daily basis the performance of the branches and attends immediately to the branch concerns and issues through the Director of Branch Operations.
* Sits with the Executive Credit Committee, the body tasked to evaluate and approve all loans.
* In coordination with the CFO, consolidates branch budgets.a
* Develops and drives strategic plans for the institution includes new branch feasibility studies, new products, e.t.c.
* Decides on all operational issues within the framework of existing regulations and management decisions.
* Develops proposals for further improvement of operations, including concepts for new products and services.
* Manages the sound extension, monitoring and documentation of loans by all branches.
* Manages the efficiency of operations of all departments and branches.
* The quality of the loan portfolio of VFC.
* Responsible for the sound management of risks.
* Act as an alternate of the CEO in his absence.
* And other responsibilities that may be assigned by the CEO.
Necessary Qualifications:
Skills and Requirements;
* Masters Degree in economics, accounting or business administration at least 5 years of experience in managing microfinance operations or a Financial Institution in a 'bank' setting or regulated environment.
* Determined personality with initiative, perseverance and the ability to motivate and manage a team.
* Capability and willingness to take responsibility and highly developed sense of rectitude.
* Extensive experience on the operational business of VFC.
* Good knowledge in economic and financial topics.
* Very good communication skills, be a good trainer, facilitator, mentor and coach.
* A mature, committed Christian.
