Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Purpose of the position:
To consolidate financial reports from UGOPAP partner organizations and assist PMC Communication Officer and Coordinator with budget preparation and management

Job Summary:
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and consolidated annual accounts; ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures; ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met; prepare financial management reports; provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions financial problems

Person Specifications:
  • Accounting Degree or equivalent i.e CPA/ACCA; knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles;
  • knowledge of economic principles;
  • knowledge of auditing practices and principles; knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations;
  • knowledge and experience of related computer applications; a minimum of 3 years working experience in management of financial systems and budgets, financial reporting, financial data analysis, auditing, taxation and providing financial advice

Key Competencies:
Attention to detail and accuracy; planning and organizing; strong communication skills; information and task monitoring and task monitoring; problem analysis; judgment and problem-solving; supervisory skills; stress tolerance; religious and respectful.

Job Title: Policy Advocacy Specialist
Purpose of the position:
To spearhead UGOPAP advocacy and lobby function, put in place and operationalise a common voice UGOPAP Civil Society Advocacy platform hosted by Caritus Uganda and with its own website.

Job Summary:
Carryout national and policy analysis; build professional capacity of Caritas Uganda and UGOPAP partners to engage in research, policy analysis and advocacy at various levels; carry out evidence based advocacy; integrate policy analysis and advocacy work in all program activities;

Person Specifications:
  • Must have a University Degree(s) minimum being at Masters Level in Development Studies, Social science, economics, project management, statistics, Law, international development, Mass Communication or related subjects
  • At least four years of demonstrated working experience
  • A proven capacity to influence decision makers and develop and manage strategic relationships to achieve common goals and objectives in aconsortium setting

Other Qualifications and Competencies:
A team builder and player, managing partner organizations and platform members’ diversities to champion policy influencing and achievement of results in livelihoods improvement and enjoyment of rights; person integrity, trustworthiness and concern for standards; Strategic thinking and proactivity; result oriented and concerns for program impact; effective leadership, organizational, planning and communication skills
