Job Title: PRICING OPTIMIZATION SPECIALIST
MTN-Uganda is the leading telecommunications Company in Uganda, providing payphone, fixed lines, fax/data, internet and mobile services. MTN is an equal opportunity employer and is seeking to recruit a competent individual to fill the vacant Position of Pricing Optimization Secialist.

The position reports to the Senior Manager – Planning, Product & Pricing.

The position reports to the Senior Manager – Planning, Product & Pricing The main purpose of the job is:

To define and implement MTN Uganda’s overall pricing strategy in consultation with the Segment Managers and other business stakeholders with the aim of providing optimal pricing structures that will maintain profitability in line with company strategy.

Prime responsibilities of the position:

    Monitors MTN Zone performance on a day-to-day basis, provides consumer behavior insights, reviews and defines discount profiles with a view to maintain a balance of the key MTN Zone objectives i.e. Network Utilization optimization, Revenue optimization and Customer retention.
    Defines products & services pricing strategies in order to ensure economic feasibility and profitability.
    Aligns operational Pricing objectives for the relevant segments with the overall business strategy, with input from Marketing Segments, Corporate Sales, S&D and Finance.
    Designs Consumer and Corporate pricing models, ensuring that product pricing and pricing plans are integrated and consistent. Provides guidance for Pricing of products and services as requested.
    Evaluates competitor pricing strategies and policies and practices, and recommends action to maintain high ground in market segments. Where necessary, recommends contingency plans to be put in place to counter competitor activity.
    Conducts financial analysis and models for all promotions and price reductions to aid decision making.
    In collaboration with the business analysts and Product & Services Manager, tracks and analyses the performance of products and services launched on the market and makes recommendations related to pricing optimization to improve take up, usage and profitability.

The applicant must possess the following;

    A Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics or Commerce, or MBA with a bias in Finance.
    Proficient with statistical applications such as SPSS, EPINFO.
    Proficient with MS Office application especially Excel and Power Point.
    At least 2 years’ experience in Pricing analysis, financial modeling and product evaluation.
    Prior experience in the telecom industry will be an added advantage.
