Job Title: COORDINATOR POLICY ANALYSIS AND MONITORING (POVERTY REDUCTION AND LIVELIHOOD)

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND PROFILE:
• A Masters Degree preferably in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Economic Development or related discipline
• At least three years experience working in a similar position with an NGO/CSO
• Knowledge of climate change issues both at the position with an NUU/USU
•Knowledge of climate change issues both at the National and international Levels
•Knowledge of international trade policies, tarrifs, treaties, and agreements and how they are linked to national practices and policies
•Proven track record in policy analysis, lobbying and advocacy work is essential.
• Ability to work effectively in teams, build positive working relationships and foster open communications
• Evidence of versatility in writing ability and capacity to use normal office and data management software
• Initiative, self-motivation and a commitment to continuously work toward improved results
• Excellent English language skills, both written and oral are required
• Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

SPECIFIC TASKS AND AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
• Coordinate the implementation of activities and projects of poverty eradication and livelihood improvement programme with special reference to agricultural development, climate change and trade
• Provide strategic and technical support to DENIVA's advocacy work at national and local levels. This will include developing and operational policy and advocacy strategy.
• Research, analyze, monitor and report on local and international policies that affect the livelihood situations
• Supervise programme officers who directly implement the various projects.
•Build positive relationships with, engage with and represent DENIVA to advocacy coalitions and other relevant stakeholders and constituencies in support of DENIVA advocacy programme objectives
• Develop recommendations for policy and advocacy at local and national levels
• Ability to conceive innovative and effective research and communications approaches, •Ability to think analytically and plan strategically.
• Ability to prioritize and work under pressure, use own initiative and work independently
• Carry-out other tasks as and when required by the supervisor
