The American Embassy is seeking for one individual for the position of Leasing Assistant in the General Services Office - Housing Section.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Responsible for the overall administration of all residential and office leases for ICASS agencies. Assist in lease negotiations and ensure timely preparation of lease payment vouchers, lease related correspondence and tracking of all other actions related to the lease portfolio, including lease caveats and obtaining necessary lease clearances and waivers. Develop and maintain close working relationship with the Interagency Housing Board, management representatives from the ICASS agencies, and landlords. Reports directly to the General Services Officer and serves as senior member of the Housing Section.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1. Education required: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, social sciences, social work and social administration, law, ethics and development, finance, public administration, or education is required.
2. Work Experience: Three years experience in property leasing, real estate, finance, administration at a mid/senior level, one of which should be at supervisory level required
3. Language Requirement: Level IV spoken and written English ability is required.
4. Knowledge: Working knowledge of local housing and leasing practices/customs/standards, and familiarity with the local realty market is required.
5. Skills and Abilities: Cross cultural communication skills capable of mediating conflicting interests of American Mission housing standards and local residential standards. Must be tactful, yet effective, in negotiating lease terms with landlords in order to achieve the required mission standards.

SELECTION PROCESS

When equally qualified, US Citizen Eligible Family Members (USEFMs) and U.S. Veterans are given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate specifically address the required qualifications above in the application.

ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA

1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and visa status in determining successful candidacy.

2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.

3. Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.

4. Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their appointment.

5. Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
