Job title: Head of Finance Uganda

Based in: Kampala, Uganda, with frequent travel to other parts of the country and occasionally to other countries in East Africa.

This is an exciting time to join WaterAid and join a team of Senior Managers in implementing their new Country strategies. We need professionals who passionately share our vision and have the influential leadership qualities to make this a reality in our country programmes. Working across the development sector to maximise the opportunities and impact of WASH issues, you will provide strategic financial management to ensure that the Country Programme strategy and objectives are met.

You will lead on development of effective financial management strategies, policies, systems and procedures; risk assessment and control measures. You will also implement procedures that ensure financial efficiency & value for money in the country program activities. You will also provide support to our partner organizations, in line with WaterAid's financial management and partnership framework. Knowledgeable in Management and Financial Accounting, you should have an excellent track record of working with I/NGOs, local and national, government and donors.

Your impressive five year minimum background in Finance management at the senior level will include substantial experience of working with partners at a variety of levels. You will have fully completed Accounting qualifications/certifications e.g. CA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or posses a Master's degree in Finance. You will have great people management and development, strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, together with experience in preparing budgets, developing monitoring and reporting systems. Ability to provide financial analysis and interpretation to the country team is key. Fluency in English is essential and good working knowledge of a local language is desirable.
