Job Title:Project Manager Livelihoods

Leonard cheshire Disability works with Cheshire partner organisations in over 50 countries. Together we support 250 independently managed disability organisations that, in turn, support people with disabilities in the efforts to secure education, livelihoods, health care and a voice in their society. We also campaign to change attitudes and improve services for disabled people.

Location: Uganda - Buikwe District

Responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of the project ensuring consistency with project documents, goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
• Set up the LRC
• Overall management of project implementation
• Define project tasks and resource requirements
• Coordinate and manage activities of the Livelihood Resource Centre Manager and their teams
• Liaise and develop good relationships with key project stakeholders including training institutes, government (national and district), employers, communities, NGOs, DPOs, INGOs, international donors etc
• Build capacity of disability peoples organisations and mainstream disability into NGOs and INGOs working in livelihoods, health and education
• Liaise with Young Voices Project to ensure that advocacy messages are coherent
• Track project deliverables using appropriate tools
• Manage project budget and submit monthly financial reports to Regional Finance and Admin Manager
• Monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders using existing internal LCD and donor report formats

Education and Experience
Essential
• Educated to degree level
• Qualification in project management or equivalent
• Experience of managing, monitoring and evaluating donor funded programmes;
• Experience of financial planning, management and control
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills (English)
• Computer literacy
• Excellent interpersonal skills

Desirable
• Post Graduate qualification
• Knowledge of Sign Language.
