Job Description (Duties):

Our client Huawei is one of the largest telecom equipment providers in Uganda in the communication industry with a strong focus on complete solutions. Huawei wishes to recruit suitable candidates to support its operations in Uganda.

Purpose:
To efficiently and effectively carry out test, turn-up, commissioning and acceptance of the clients transmission Network.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* To implement planned transmission projects efficiently, as planned within the scheduled time and budget.
* To test, turn-up and commission newly installed transmission links.
* Prior to complete site handle over, you will be required to schedule and implement corrective and preventative maintenance duties to prevent any network downtime.
* Experience of 1 year or more in Microwave installation, commissioning and troubleshooting is an added advantage.



Necessary Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering/IT or its equivalent from a reputable institute of higher learning.
* At least 1 year experience in the telecommunications industry. Preferably in transmission and radio maintenance.

Competencies

* Conversant with TCP/IP networking technology, related qualifications like CCNA are an added advantage

* Knowledge of pathloss microwave planning tool.

* Knowledge of SDH/PDH transmission technologies
* Basic Knowledge of PDH & SDH Fundamentals

* Computer Literate
* Good Communications skills, a team player and must be willing to work under pressure.
