Job Title: Communications Manager

Duties

A. Deliver the vision of Uwezo through the creation of coordinated external and internal communication strategies and campaigns

B. Lead and manage the communications activity of Uwezo and also ensure wider coordinated communications with UNNGOF and all Uwezo partners

C. Advise the senior management team on marketing, reputation and brand activities by providing vision and sound professional and technical direction

D. Actively engage, communicate and influence local, regional and national opinion formers and stakeholders


Job requirement

A. Masters Degree or equivalent in Media Studies, Arts, Social Science or related fields

B. In depth knowledge and experience of the communication issues of a large initiative like Uwezo

C. A good understanding and insight into the workings and political processes surrounding education environment in Uganda

D. Clear vision about the role of communication in organizations both internally and externally

E. Substantial practical experience of working with and influencing the media at local, regional and national level

F. A successful history of leading and implementing change in a communication function
