Job Title: Principal Election Officer/ Public relations
Reports to: Secretary, electoral Commission
Duty station: electoral Commission Headquarters
Job Purpose:
To project and protect the Electoral Commission’s image as a credible institution in charge of elections in Uganda
Key Tasks:
• Heading the public Relations section
• Responsible for the entire range of media relations
• Providing publicity support for all commission programs and activities
• Act as commission spokesman
• Any other duties as may be assigned officially
Minimum Qualifications:
• Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honors Bachelors Degree in Mass Communication, Social Sciences or a related field from a recognized university and a post graduate diploma in a Management related field
• Computer knowledge (MS Office) is a must.
Minimum Experience:
• Applicants should have at least 6 years relevant experience in the field of public relations/ journalism, 3 of which should have been gained at a senior level in Government or a large reputable organization
Special Personal Characteristics/ attributes
• Knowledge of government policies and Administrative procedures
• Well developed interpersonal and communication skills and capable of working as a member of the organization’s senior management team
• Excellent written and spoken English with strong report writing and presentation skills
