Description: Job purpose
To carry out an independent review/appraisal of Umeme's internal controls with teh engineering and It enviroment, and to provide assurance and effectiveness.
Principles and Accountabilities
• Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies within the engineering and IT environment
• Prepare detailed report on audit findings.
• Examine and evaluate engineering and information systems (e.g OICS, SCADA, GIS, AMR, Prepaid Metering, etc.) recommending controls to ensure system reliability and data integrity.
• Conduct pre and post implementation audits to determine if systems and programs under development will work as planned.
• Coordinate the implementation of the annual technical audit plans.
• Identify performance improvement opportunities within the business.
• Report to management about network-asset utilization and audit results, and recommend changes in operations and activities.
• Carry-out adhoc audits specifically on technical aspects of the control systems as maybe required from time to time.
• Coordinate, and follow-up on status of audit recommendations with Senior Auditor, Head of internal audit and department heads.
• Required qualification and experience
Requirements: Required qualification and experience
• A good Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering from a recognized institution.
• Professional qualification (e.g. CISA, CIA, ACCA, CPA) will be an added advantage.
• 2 years relevant experience in a busy environment.
