Concern Worldwide is a non-governmental, international, humanitarian organisation dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries. Our mission is to help people living in extreme poverty achieve major improvements in their lives which last and spread without ongoing support from Concern. To achieve this mission we engage in long term development work, respond to emergency situations, and seek to address the root causes of poverty through our development education and advocacy work.
Concern Worldwide Uganda is recruiting for a Finance Officer-Partners position. This position is based in Kampala with 70% travel within Uganda. Applications are invited from suitable candidates with the skills and experience below;

Job Summary:
The Finance Officer - Partners will ensure all aspects of Concern’s financial procedures and processes with partners are effectively carried out. This will include the development of appropriate financial clauses in partner agreement, the monitoring of partner expenditure and performance, the development of partner capacity building strategies and assistance to partners and programme managers in the planning and design phase projects; reviewing partners’ reports and maintaining them in Concern’s systems.
The position will require a high degree of technical financial knowledge with strong training skills with the two key objectives of supporting and counter-parting partners towards achieving programme objectives and ensuring Concern’s monies are utilized in the appropriate and a transparent manner
Preferred Skills:   
Essential:
• Extensive accounting and financial management experience with an international NGO or similar organization

• Partner grant management experience/skills

• At least 2 years audit experience.

• University Degree in Accounting or related discipline.

• Advanced (Level 2 minimum) part-Qualified Accountants (ACCA ,CPA (U) or CPA)

• Highly computer literate with excellent excel skills.

• Knowledge of computerized accounts package essential.

• Proven attention to detail

• Strong leadership, people management, interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

• Ability to produce high quality work and balance competing priorities within demanding timeframes.

• Flexible & adaptable: willing to travel as required to field offices (70% of time will be spent visiting Partner field offices)

• Excellent/Proven training skills

• A strong empathy for the work Concern carries out.
