Job Title: WASH Project Officer

General Description of the Role

Reporting to the WASH Project Manager, the WASH Project Officer will be responsible for the management of all the daily WASH activities including planning, budgeting and directing implementation of water and sanitation
He/ She will specifically be charged with building the capacity of the project and the local government staff in construction design, supervision and quality control and on participatory approaches for the promotion of proper usage/ operation and maintenance of water and sanitation facilities.

Essential Requirements:
•    Diploma in civil/ Water Engineering/Hydrology, public health/ environmental Engineering or an equivalent
•    Two years experience in the water and sanitation field and post conflict and humanitarian setting
•    Demonstrated experience in design of water and sanitation facilities and construction management

Desirable Requirements:
•    Excellent communication, organizational and prioritization skills
•    Knowledge of local language (LUO)
•    Experience of ground water abstraction for both deep and shallow wells
