Department Courts of Judicature  Post Chief Magistrate Number of vacancies Two (2) Salary scale    U1SE

Duties:

    To hear both Criminal and Civil cases. To write and deliver judgements.
    To administer and supervise staff in the Magisterial Area Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirement:

    Candidates should be Ugandans who possess an LLB degree from a recognized University/ Institution, plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre Kampala or its equivalent. Any relevant advanced / post graduate qualification(s) especially in Management, Administration, Finance, Business or Information Technology (IT) will be of added advantage.
    Must have served with integrity, efficiency and effectiveness as a Senior Principal Magistrate Grade One for a period of at least two (2) years or Principal Magistrate Grade One for four (4) years or Senior Magistrate Grade One for five (5) years or Magistrate Grade One for not less than six (6) years.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Judicial Officers to fill two (2) vacant posts existing in the Courts of Judicature.

Applications to be filled in triplicate on PSC Form 3 (1972) should be submitted to the Secretary, Judicial Service Commission, Plot 6/7 Parliament Avenue, Farmers House, Ground Floor, Kampala to be received not later than 11th March 2013.
