INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
TITLE: Program Intern
PROGRAM: Uganda Fistula Care Project

Responsibilities;
Receive, collate and enter partograph data collected from all supported sites
Compile and submit summarized data for each facility for analysis, interpretation and report writing
Maintain appropriate project files, ensuring that filing system is developed for various components and activities.
Participate in monitoring meetings with Village health teams (VHTs).
Conduct interviews and focus groups with program participants (facility staff, VHTs, community members, counselors at Regional Referral Hospital).
Manage program evaluation data, including generating analyses and summaries.
Follow up on advocacy meeting planning processes (Rwenzururu and Bunyoro kingdoms)
Support preparation for office meetings and documentation of staff and departmental meeting minutes
Support training/workshop preparations, seminars and or related activities by making sure that materials, equipment and stationery are packed and delivered to venues.
Support staff with the compilation of the reports to include photocopying, binding, and distribution to various stakeholders.
Provide support to the Driver/Office Assistant in reviewing records and documents in the resource centre, weed inactive materials and dispose of obsolete records; manage the archives and promote preservation of the heritage of the organization.
Assist the Driver/Office Assistant in management of stores of EngenderHealth including IEC, Stationery and groceries to promote proper stocktaking, ordering supplies and filing.
Support program workshops/events and liaise with staff and finance department and ensure all the logistics support for venue, invitations, funds, transport and accommodation.
Liaison with partners and districts for follow up reports as directed by technical staff.
Support the program team in implementation of activities which may include communication to stakeholders and participants; arrange training /supervision materials; schedule/confirm meetings
Support the Administration unit as required and stand in for the Project Assistant when absent
Perform other tasks and assignments as and when required which are consistent to this position
Qualifications and skills
A demonstrated commitment to positive social change as well as a personal and professional commitment to gender equity and positive health for all
Progress toward a Masters or other advanced degree in a health-related field such as public health, demography, or development studies (courses in health communications, research, or HIV/RH a plus)
Strong oral and written English communication skills
Work experience, if any, would be an added advantage
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs and data analysis
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
Leadership, networking, and team work experience
Professional experience with gender issues in reproductive health and HIV prevention
A stipend will be provided to the successful candidate.
