Job Title: DEBT COLLECTION OFFICER - (04 POSITIONS)

REPORTS TO: SUPERVISOR –DEBT COLLECTION
ROLE: To implement and facilitate the Collection and enforce the Recovery of
Tax Debts in line with the Departmental Guidelines and Relevant tax
Laws.
KEY RESULT AREAS
• To receive and register incoming case files from stations and reconcile tax
positions where necessary.
• To prepare debt recovery instruments
• Participate in enforcement against tax defaulters
• Coordinate and oversee enforcement activities with Auctioneers
• Monitor the debt Portfolio
• Follow up on bounced cheques
• To bank cheques for MOU’s on their due dates
• To monitor tax payer’s compliance with MOU’s
Person Specifications
(a) Qualifications
Essential:
• An Honors degree in Commerce, Accounting, Economics, Finance,law and related
studies.

• ACCA/CPA Qualifications
• Candidates with Law degrees must have a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice
and be Enrolled as Advocates
Desirable:
• Training in Tax and Revenue Administration
(b) Experience and Knowledge
a) At least three (3) years’ experience in handling tax administration matters.
b) Experience and exposure to tax assessment, tax computations, reconciliations of
tax positions and tax audits leading into enforcement and collection of tax debts
c) Risk analysis and profiling; with strong problem solving abilities
d) In-depth understanding and/or exposure to various tax and other laws, policy,
regulations, protocols
e) Strong knowledge and experience in administration of tax enforcement instruments

research
b) Excellent command of the English language - both spoken and written
