Job Title: Sales & Marketing Manager | Reports to: Managing Director
As part of our changing business model, Cangaroo Holdings continues to grow at a steady pace and have embarked on a growth model that entails manufacturing of high value consumer products including toothpaste, shoe polish and bathing soap from China. We are thus seeking a self-motivated individual to provide, identify and develop business opportunities for the company’s products as well as the bringing in creativity in our marketing and sales initiatives.
To plan and achieve the sales targets.
To plan and achieve the distribution target
Monitor implementation of Distribution plan across distributor territories
Monitor category availability, visibility & freshness (Stock rotation)
Prepares and execute the sales & marketing plan;
Define and follow up of yearly targets and objectives.
Develop and implement strategies for new products and services.
Determine new opportunities by analyzing business needs.
Provide direction, guidance to the department to ensure alignment with the Company strategies.
Generating leads for possible sales and follow-up sales activity
Advising on, drafting and enforcing sales policies and processes
Strengthen Cangaroo Holding’s relationship with existing and new clients
Do Market analysis and deliver accurate business reports.
Attend workshops, trade shows, and seminars to keep up-to-date on changes in the industry.
Research & Development
Develop and deliver the business plans through carrying out research, formulate market analysis and deliver accurate sales and marketing reports.
Serves as a lead facilitator both internally and externally for projects.
Forecast long and short-range market potential in the Uganda for Management’s analysis
As a representative of Cangaroo Holdings at industry events and tradeshows, your professional manner and polished appearance will aid your intention of gaining new business leads and contacts
Marketing and Brand promotion
Increase the company’s involvement with existing clients.
Develop and manage client communication tools such as the brochures, fliers and banners.
Develop the brand strategy to keep the Cangaroo Holding brand in our client’s minds
Develop and manage marketing tools for existing and new clients
Sales & Business Development
Pro-actively hunt for target organizations and establish contacts with those businesses that can benefit from our products and services.
Possess drive, motivation and acute attention to detail in ensuring all sales and marketing opportunities to Cangaroo Holdings are captured and explored
Further develop multi-tier relationships to organically grow the clients’ accounts.
Build referral and lead generation network
You will effectively interact with other departments including the account management and technical team when handing over campaigns ensuring you fully and correctly brief in all aspects of the sale
Keeping abreast of issues affecting online marketing, design and graphics, web development and the entire industry and collecting competitor intelligence
Implement business models so as to create new ventures
Adopt a hands-on approach in monitoring the implementation and execution of marketing programmes
Presenting Cangaroo Holdings to potential clients through direct communication in face to face meetings, telephone calls and emails
Actively and successfully manage the sales process: LEAD GENERATION; credentials pitch; asking questions; SOLUTION PITCH; negotiation; CLOSE OF DEAL; handover to the account management team
Managing and maintaining a pipeline and ensuring all sales administration is current
Create and be accountable for all client proposals, contracts and any further documentation, following Cangaroo Holdings procedure
Responding to tenders and requests for information in a timely manner
Personal qualities, skills and experience:
Typically a candidate for the role will hold a related university degree and is most likely to be expected to be able to demonstrate progress and achievement in their career to date. Most recently, they will have worked in a commercial role within an FMCG entity where they will have played a key role in improving sales and distribution channels.
As the Sales and Marketing Manager, you will lead and expand our sales, marketing, and operations activities. Managing and building our current sales team to drive growth in our sales and corresponding social impact you will play a critical role in Uganda operations. The right candidate will have experience designing tools and systems to build efficient and high sales performance teams. This person will be an exceptional implementer & will drive sales through identifying successful pilots and innovations and integrating them into existing operations. This position is based in Kampala, Uganda.
Desired Skills and Experience
• Five to seven years’ experience in sales with exposure to retail and dealer management.
• Proven track record of accurately and reliably closing the books for a $1 million+ company for 2+years. Preferably in wholesale or retail trade.
• Experience working in a shared environment and managing stocks and inventory.
• BBA (Marketing) or in a similar field.
• Worked in the consumer goods industry
Fluency in written and oral English is a pre-requisite, and all responses should be submitted in English. A clear highlight of all local and international languages spoken and written should also be included.
