Job Title: WASH Project Manager

The WASH project manager will manage GOAL's WASH program and develop technical staff in environmental and engineering fields in order to achieve GOAL's program objectives.

The incumbent will be responsible for managing the GOAL WASH program in Abim District. He/she will provide appropriate staff development through training and supervision for WASH staff, in particular the participatory community -led approach and adequate report writing among others

Requirements/Person Specification (Essential)

  • Suitable candidates will hold a technical undergraduate degree, Preferably Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • At least 4 years' experience of working in an NGO or similar Watson/wash environment
  • Practical knowledge and experience of CLTS approach
  • Excellent communication, computer and report writing skills
  • Experience of management and training of staff
  • Demonstrated analytical and conceptual skills to plan projects, timetable agreed activities, manage a budget and oversee staff activities
  • Ability and Willingness to live in remote, insecure location, within security procedures
Desirable
  • Experience of participatory approaches including PHAST
  • Demonstrated technical design skills, preferably using AutoCAD
  • MSc in Water and Environmental Management, Water Management, Water and Waste Engineering or similar.
